Help with Loews First and upgrading

My DH is Hilton Gold right now and possibly moving on to Hilton Diamond. I'm hoping to get a status match so we can have Loews First Gold or Platinum. So anyway here's where I am confused.

Say I book a garden view room at HRH. What could I get upgraded to with Loews Gold? Loews Platinum? It said something about being upgraded to a suite if you are platinum and ones available. Are kids suites included in this? Now there would be 4 people staying in a room- 2 kids, 2 adults. Do the suites accommodate 4 people. I look on the universal site and it says optional additional bedroom.

If they have no suites will they upgrade you to something else like deluxe? Do you ever get upgraded to Club?

How do you go about getting this upgrade? Do you call for a ressie and tell them you want to book a garden view with a platinum upgrade to a suite? Or do you book the gardenview and try to get upgraded when you check in?

I read the threads on the Loews first but it really doesn't answer my questions. I'm just a tad confused about all this Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kid's suites are not part of the upgrade; only king suites in the HRH which aren't allowed to accomodate 4 people. Gold level status will upgrade you from garden view to deluxe - which will sleep 5 people because it can have two queens and a pullout.

At the Portofino you can get a Portofino suite with two queens and the pullout in the other room to sleep 5 people with a platinum upgrade.

In either case you won't get upgraded to club.

When you call, you just tell the reservationist your status and she will tell you what you are entitled to and what is available.

Thank you Damo! That clears things up for me. It almost makes more sense for my family to be Gold if we want to stay at HRH to possibly get the upgrade to deluxe. The deluxe room looked like it would work out well for my family.

We are Hilton Gold and were upgraded from Blue to Loew's platinum when I called them and asked what they would do. We just had to send our statement showing our status with Hilton. Good luck on the upgrade!
