HI,
We fly on Saturday morning  :dance3: :yay: :dance3:  :yay: :dance3: and I'm just having a wee panic about all the last minute stuff I haven't found out or done!:confused3

Can anyone tell me what the latest security advice for hand luggage is (flying with Monarch from Newcastle)?

Can I pack liquid in my suitcases? ( I usually take a couple of bottles of squash in my hand luggage for using out there but not sure if it would be ok in suitcases wrapped in towels)

I thought about buying all my suntan lotions/shampoo etc out there - Does anyone know how they are priced in comparison to Boots etc at Walmart.

I think that's my panic/rant/questions over with unless:rolleyes: any of you guys have any tips for me:thumbsup2
Thanks in advance
Linda

Hi Linda,
You can buy shampoo, conditioner, etc very cheaply in walmart/Publix et, much cheaper than at home;)

Sorry i can't help with your other questions, i'm sure someone will be along to help you soon:goodvibes

Happy Planning!

Latest security requirements can always be found at your airport website. In your case, for Newcastle, here - http://www.newcastleairport.com/pre_travel_and_getting_here/Security_Advice.htm (that will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about security restrictions).

ALso check Monarch's website - sometimes airlines require that your handluggage is actually SMALLER than the BAA security requirements...

You have bottles of anything in your checked baggage (well, not petrol, gasoline, explosives...). Squash is fine. make sure you wrap it well. One thing to be aware of is that liquids are heavy: so if you have a small luggage allowance anyway, a couple of bottles of squash can soon help use it up. There are plenty of lovely drinks and juices (that you could water down if you wanted) in the US.

When I take bottles of toiletries/suntan lotion/perfume etc in ckecked baggage, I always "double ziplock bag" it. I put the bottles (or group of bottles) in a ziplock bag which I zip shut. Then I put this in another ziplock bag and seal that. I find that, thus far, this has prevented any leaks. Maybe not practicle for a bottle of squash though...

You can buy suntan lotion and toiletries over in the US cheaper than over here. The only thing is that they don't always have exactly the same brands as us - no problem unless you absolutely have to have a certain brand of conditioner or something.

I thought you were not able to bring any liquids onto the aircraft unless they are 100ml max and in a plastic bag that the airport seemed to provide before we went through to customs. :confused3

Liquids of any size can go in the hold ie checked in luggage.
