Hi, all. I have a fairly new Kenmore oven which was pretty expensive (for me). Last Christmas (true story - yes, it was Christmas, and yes, I was having Christmas dinner for 12 people), I was cooking a turkey and realized after several hours that the house did not smell as fragrant as it should have. Horror of horrors, my oven had shut off by itself!! (yes, I did initially blame DH, as if he would randomly turn the oven off in the middle of my cooking a turkey
) I had to pull up a chair next to the oven and sit there for the final few hours of cooking, to make sure I had something to serve at dinner!!
Over the course of this year, we've realized that occasionally (this does not happen all the time, which is why I haven't gotten around to having it fixed), when the oven is set for any temperature around 350, it turns off by itself. Over 375-400 degrees, it's consistently fine.
I am baking a Danish puff pastry now (350), went in the kitchen to check, and it has again turned off by itself (sadly, puff pastry is dead
).
Obviously I need to have my oven repaired, but I was wondering if any of you have had any similar problems and what was the cause?
Thanks for any insight!!
