We are going to Disney World the last week of March for Spring Break and I am having trouble deciding what park to go to on Monday, March 27. Here's my dilemms:

- It seems I have read several times to avoid MK on Mondays.
- The info I got on TouringPlans.com indicates the best park to go to that day is MGM, but it's evening EMH there that day and we are going to avoid EMH parks as we are staying off-site and can't take advantage of EMH and don't want to be subjected to the crowds in the EMH parks
- The TouringPlans.com info says the parks to avoid that day are Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

So, what park do we go to? I should add that we aren't getting Park Hoppers so starting in one park and hopping to another later isn't an option.

Thanks!

What are you doing the other days? That will help everyone help you. I had the same problem, so I went and picked somewhere to eat for that day and based it on that. I know...lol, bu hey, I have been on a diet since May, so I am sooooo looking forward to my "cheat week"

According to touringplans.com, they suggest MGM and say to avoid AK on March 27th. As far as EMH goes, MGM does have the evening EMH; and AK has the morning EMH. With that information, I'd probably go to Epcot.

But the Touring Plans also say to avoid Epcot that day (It says to avoid both Animal Kingdom and Epcot that day), but I can't figure what the reasoning would be.

If you go with the idea of going to the park that had evening EMH the night before, then that would mean go to MK. But I've always read to avoid MK on Mondays. I wonder if it's not as crowded on Mondays at MK if they've just had EMH the night before??

The reasoning behind staying away from MK on Mondays is that many people go to MK early in their vacation, whether or not it's EMH. Do you have park-hopping ability? If so, then maybe do park opening at MK and move to Epcot when MK starts getting crowded. You really can do a lot in Fantasyland that first hour or two of the day.

How many days do you have? Is that Monday the only day you have available to do MK as a nonEMH day?

No, we don't have park hopping ability. We'll be in Orlando for a week and plan to spend 1 day at MK, 1 day at MGM, 1 day at Epcot. I was thinking we'd do parks on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday due to plans we have on the other days.

I wanted to start off at MGM on Monday because it's our favorite park, but they have evening EMH so maybe that isn't a good idea. My second choice would be to start off on Monday with MK but everyone always says to avoid MK on Mondays.

The TouringPlan I printed off says MGM is the best park (why would that be if the strategy of avoiding EMH parks is what you're using?), and the parks to avoid are AK and Epcot. I'm curious as to why it doesn't list MK as the park on avoid on all Mondays since that seems to be the conventional wisdom.

Using all those guidelines, there is no good park to go to on Monday, March 27.

I see that the on-line version of the TouringPlans must have been updated because now it only has AK as the park to avoid that day, so I guess we could go to Epcot. I don't really want to start off with that park since it's the least favorite of the 3 we'll be going to.

Frustratinng isn't it. One plan says one thing and another advises something else. Fyi I had also read for our trip go to MK on Monday and avoid AK. So I guess you just have to pick one of the parks that are not on anyones absolutely 'don't go' list and take your best shot. I also think it was touring plans, that said the day is only a small part, the way you plan your day is the big time saver.

You can always go to their site and print off an itinerary for any of the parks. You're able to put in the date you're going. It's a great resource. Maybe, MGM isn't a bad idea if you start the day off when the park opens. People will probably begin their day at AK and finish off at MGM because of the way they have the EMH set up.

Good luck with what you decide. I know it is very confusing.

On that date, considering you are staying off site, I agree with a previous post that Epcot is probably your best choice.

There is also another planning philosophy that says to start off with the least favorite park first....especially with young children who haven't been introduced to the wonders of MK. They'll enjoy what Epcot, AK and MGM have to offer before being able to compare it to MK.

If your heart is set on MK, then do it. Just plan accordingly...make sure you are there at park opening, use fastpasses and tour wisely. And have fun!!!

My opinion: Epcot on Monday, MK on Tuesday, MGM on Thursday.............probably the opposite of how you'd LIKE to do it, but I think it'll be best...........I've always heard to avoid MK on Mondays, which seems to reason that if lots are going on Monday, Tuesday would be a better day, don't ya think?

Then, going with the least fave park first idea, that puts Epcot first. It's really a great park, and it will probably be more enjoyable before all the magic of MK and all the flash of MGM.

Thank you for the replies!

PaigeVZ - your plan is exactly what I settled on last night.

I think it will be fine to start with Epcot. Then MK is good on Tuesday because they're open a little later that day (10 pm). We'll go like gangbusters from open to close that day, then rest on Wednesday, and finish with our favorite park (MGM) on Thursday. MGM closes kind of early (7:30) but I was able to get dinner reservations at 50's PrimeTime Cafe at 7:30 so we won't have to use any park time to eat.

Thanks for everyone's help. I am happy with my itinerary now!
