Help with hotel-Universal!!!

I need some suggestions for an inexpensive (but good) hotel near Universal. I will keep pricing the Universal hotels but right now they are all over $200 and I'm looking for $60-90 range.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Have you checked out the AmeriSuites? I stayed there, it's literally right across the street and an easy walk to Universal. We have always had good luck with AmeriSuites - they have sofas, multiple tvs, fridge, etc. Nothing fancy but it's always been clean (interior hallways, too)

I stayed at the Comfort Inn on Sand Lake road last year. I wanted to stay there again this year but the rate was higher than the comfort LBV.

Another vote for Amerisuites. We stayed there a few years ago through Priceline ($33/nt) and loved it although I'm not sure what rack rate is there. There's also a Doubletree on Kirkman (used to be the Radisson), Holiday Inn and a few others. Good luck on your search.

This is down the road from US/IOA on Canada Ave. but if you have a rental car, you're good to go. Stayed there last Oct. and thought it was great for the price - clean and convenient (around $50-$60/night).

In fact I booked again for the first night of our trip in Dec.

Stayed at the Clarion across from Wet n Wild. There is bus service to the park so no car needed and I had a room package which includes 5 park tickets. Saved me almost $200

I know the Universal hotels are high but the front of the line access is Priceless!! We've discovered we're Disney people but would have REALLY disliked Universal without the Front of the line access!! Also, you can walk everywhere you need to go there. If you check in one day, you have that access for that day as well as the next if that helps any! JMHO!

Just booked Royal Pacific 1 night at 210.00 AAA, just to get the front of the line pass. Worth every penny to me. I will be there Thanksgiving weekend.
