Ok I'm at a loss. They both have jobs and buy everything they want. I have never has such trouble. We usually spend Christmas in Florida but arent going due to my parents their grandparents health.

Maybe a selection of gift cards? I give my friend's son's gift cards to places like Wawa for gas & coffee, to movie theaters for tickets and I-Tunes... whatever they do they can always use more money to do it with.

If you don't want to go the gift card or money route then go the fun way. Buy them nerf guns and extra ammo, or I got my nephew Bucky balls.

Another way would be sleep pants, or a robe.

do you know what game system they have? A game or an extra controller are ideas.

there is a thread a few pages back titled filler gifts for college student and there are a bunch of ideas there, just search back a page or 2

If they are guys who like to have fun then go the Nerf gun route for sure. My older nephews wouldn't have appreciated something like that (they are totally NOT fun) but would have used a gift card to Barnes & Nobles or Starbucks. Guess it all depends on what types of things they like as to what type of gift would be best.

Gift cards to places like Target are always a hit. Anyone can find something at Target!

I have 2 teenage boys and whenever anyone asks, I suggest movie tickets. Even if they have jobs and money, unless they have a lot of it, movies have become quite the expensive luxury for kids. Yet, they universally enjoy it.

That said...thank you everyone else for the nerf gun suggestion. I was bumming because I miss giving fun Christmas gifts. Problem solved.

My son is 17 and he also works and buys pretty much everything he wants.. I ended up getting him a $200 giftcard to the mall.. so he can go shopping after Christmas.. got him a wallet from Pacsun, some boxers and a rope bracelet type thing from American Eagle.. a flashlight, a small tool set, some hand warmers, $10 giftcard to Subway and some candy.. I think Im stopping there..

I know one of my daughters is getting him some cologne from Pac Sun..

nerf guns

Marshmellow shooters

Seriously, my teens would say CASH. They're always broke and at there ages(17 & 24) they don't want anymore PJs, scarves, gloves, hats or robes. They are both saving up for things--DS wants to buy a professional mic and DD is saving up to take a senior trip.

In our family, I start sending cash the year the nieces and nephews turn 10. I take a $20 bill and tape it to the underside of a box of candy. They love getting a small bit of candy all for themselves and they really love the CASH.

iTunes cards, Target cards, and CASH!!!! Teens love cash. And their parents LOVE  for them to get cash!!!

Hooded sweatshirts
Cologne
Sporting event tickets
Concert tickets
Movie tickets
Restaurant gift cards - Subway, Applebee's, Uno, Chili's, etc.
Gas gift cards

my DS21 gets cash , underwear, shoes, new jeans from old navy, toothbrush, deodorant and his favorite candyand gift card to starbucks for Christmas every year. He buys the things he wants now , so I get him a few things that aren't fun to buy. It has been this way since he was 17 . Same things every year.

I agree, things that aren't fun to buy but everyone has to like gas gift cards or even grocery store gift cards. Nerf guns are always a hit, theyre pretty cheap at wal mart and target. Movie tickets are a great idea!! Also maybe a stocking with things they use like deodorant, their cologne, gum, a new razor, etc.

Like someone else said, if they are gamers and you know what system they have, a new controller or a subscription to the online network is a big hit.

My son is 17 and he asked for cash, also. He has his own at home business and school so he knows exactly what he wants and doesn't want people to guess.

And he'd  at any kind of Nerf anything. :lmao:
