We are driving down to Disney in June for 2 weeks.
I was trying to find some site on the internet or an app to help me find out where I will be 5 or 6 hours into our trip so I can look for hotels.
Is there some site you can suggest to help me out with this?

We drove from VA to FL a few years ago and we stayed at a Hampton Inn just off I95 in Brunswick, GA (which is where the exits are for Jekyll Island). We plan it so we get there in the evening, go grab dinner out and then sleep. They have a free continental breakfast in the AM and then we hit the road. Then it's about 4 to 4 1/2 hours to Orlando. I think it was about an 8 hour drive from the Richmond area to South GA.

When we lived in VA and drove, we usually stayed at a Holiday Inn (my husband has a membership card and we used points) close to the border of SC and GA. Whatever you do, don't stay at South of the Border!! I kept waking up thinking I heard an axe murderer!! :scared:

Why don't you try Google maps. Mark your starting location and then find places that you might want to stop and drop a pin. Then you can let the app decide health long it takes you to get there. Not long enough, move the pin and have a Calculator the time again.

Thanks, this is what I am looking for. I will check out the other hotels the pp.'s mentioned.:thumbsup2

What part of VA are you driving from? We live in PA and take 81-77-26 and pick up 95 in SC. We stay in Orangeburg SC at the Country Inn & Suites, you can google it and then see how long the drive time would be for you.
You can probably stay further south then we do though, as we have a longer drive. Perhaps see how long of a drive Walterboro, SC is for you, it is right off 95 and is a nice area.

Whatever you do be sure to look up reviews of the place on tripadvisor.com.
Also they have maps on there that show you all the hotels in a certain area and you can zoom in and out ;)

Google the I 95 Exit Guide. They also have an app.

Thanks!

We are driving from Blue Ridge (right outside Roanoke). We have stayed in Walterboro last year…we were on our way to Hilton Head. We stayed at a dive though:scared1: I need to find a better place :) I will check out Orangeburg as well. We can't get away until 6 or 7pm, so I think Walterboro or Orangeburg may work for timing.

Thanks!

We have also stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Columbia, we stayed there last year. My kids love CI&S so we often stay at them, we've never had a bad experience. The indoor swimming pool can be a godsend for them to burn up some energy before bed or before we hit the road and they love the breakfast!
