We have just gotten insurance that covers Chiropractic care. I've never seen a chiropractor, and I'm not 100% certain that's who I should see...but I thought since insurance covered it, I might give it a try.

I have ongoing difficulties with my shoulder that I dislocated many years ago...which causes soreness and stiffness in my shoulder and neck. They may also be the cause of a headache, which I've woken with every day for about 6 weeks now.

Anyway. Can someone who is familiar give me what to look for in a Chiropractor? I see DC behind one's name, but is there a certifying board for these guys? What else do I need to know?

I see a chiropractor for my shoulder for similar reasons. It really helps with the stiffness and I don't wake up in the middle of the night with shoulder pain anymore. It also helps that I work out and we really work on the muscles surrounding my shoulder.

Find out what services the chiropractor offers. If you just go in and get an adjustment each time it probably isn't doing what you need it to. I would talk to people in your area and see who they use and what they think.
