You can't help but have fun in Boston--the museums, the aquarium, plenty to see, and it's a good walking-around city. It can get pricey, though. Cheaper if you stay just outside the actual city--the T is very easy to use, and runs all over, so no problem using it to get around.

Stowe VT for a night and the go to montreal or Quebec City for 2-3 nights. So much good food and shopping!

London is only a 7 hour flight from NY.

San Francisco, Portland and Seattle are usually not as hot during the summer as other locations.

San Diego is always nice.

We had a surprisingly good time in Philadelphia on a short trip once - lots of educational stuff.

We LOVED San Diego and even in July it was not too hot. You could spend a week in Balboa park and still not see everything!
