DH has just been informed that the new software packages his company is using requires them to change from cable to DSL. I checked Verizon and it's not yet available in our area. Any other recommendations for providers?
Oh I just thought of it you can also do that directv dsl thing, it comes right thru your dish? As far as good ro bad, i really havent had any problems with my bellsouth and i get a discount of $5 on my bill fo rbundling with my regular landline.
Are you sure that DSL is even available in your area? Not every area has DSL access. I think there are websites that you can look up if there are any providers in your area.
I've never heard of a company insisting on DSL over cable. I wonder why...
agnes!
If verizon isn't available there's a good chance that neither is any other provider. I can't get it at all, but my neighbor down the street (only 10 houses away) can. It's one of the must frustrating things ever. So much so that when we start looking for a new house, we won't consider one without access.
As for Hughesnet (the dish braodband) don't even think about it. it's almost $100/month!
About HughesNet...the last time I checked into it, the installation cost for the dish was *expensive*(at least $400 or $500, even with the famous $100 off!) Ack!
Plus, as harleyquinn said...their monthly costs are kind of expensive.
