Ok - so I received the coveted PIN code that was 20/35/40. The prices are not coming out to what I thought they should be.

Details are: Me, husband, son (16), daughter (11) so four adults. Seven night stay, checking in October 2nd, checking out October 9th. Regular dining plan. Seven day tickets with park hopper, but no water park option.

These are the prices I had BEFORE pin code:
POFQ $3760
AKL (standard view) $4783
CBR $3760
This is w/o trip insurance.

After PIN code prices:
POFQ $3354
CBR $3358
AKL (standard view) $4107

I'm confusing myself. Do the prices sound right? Looks like the moderates did come down by about 35%. I was just thinking AKL should have came down by about $955 instead of around $676.

Just to confuse myself more, I did price room only before. For example, room only at AKL comes up to 2385, divided by seven days is $340 a night. So with a 40% discount, it should have came down $955 off the previous package to make $204 a night, right?

Doing a moderate, room only was $1361 or $194 a night. With 35% discount, $476 off the package, $126 a night.

It does seem the the moderate is more in line with the discount, but not AKL.
Anyone want to help me figure it out?

Did a Disney cm give you these prices? If the room is regularly $340, then it should be $204. Our room at BWI is regularly $340 and were getting it for $204. Maybe the view really wasn't standard? :confused3

Isn't a standard view $300 a night at AKL in regular season? I just looked at Mousesavers, not the Disney site.

I did the math and came up with a $954 discount like you did. I played around on the Disney website and found the AKL before price to be $4783 as well. Like you, I think your after price should be lower, $3829. Try calling in and have them price it out for you. :)

Yes - that is the CM giving the prices.

I'm really wanting to stay at AKL again and was bummed when it was still that much more.

It seems that the CM did not base the AKL quote on a standard room. Try playing with upgraded rooms to see if the discount is working correctly.

The prices for AKL Standard are $350 per night for Oct 2nd through Oct 7th. On Oct. 8th, the price increases to $370 a night.

I totally think that you were quoted an upgraded view. It doesn't make sense otherwise. :confused3:)

I just looked it up on Disney's site. October 2-7 for AKL standard view is $300 a night, October 8th is $320, because it's a Friday night. :thumbsup2

I thought the prices I got were high...but I went back and cleared my cache, cookies, history, etc... and this is what i keep getting for AKL on the DW site...why:confused3 (and i apologize for the incorrect info!!)

Thanks everyone for trying to help me figure it out.

Even with the corrected prices of 350 for the first six nights and 370 for the last, it still comes up to about $988 for the 40% off PIN and thus the package should be around $3800ish.

I'm thinking the CM must have not have done standard view or something?? I'm going call later this afternoon and will let you know if the figures change.

that is so bizarre, I just did it again and I'm still getting $300 and $320. I can't copy and paste what I'm getting, because I'm at work and our right click doesn't work on our mouses. So lame! :rotfl:

Does your pin exclude any dates? My 20/30/40 pin would exclude 10/8 so you would be paying full price for that night which would add $144 to the price you calculated. Also, did you specifically ask the CM to exclude trip insurance? I believe they add this unless you specifically tell them not to which would add an add'l $134. These two items would make up the difference between your calc and the CM's quote.

hmmm...that makes sense!:thumbsup2

I never thought about the excluded dates when I played around with your dates/tickets etc. on their website:thumbsup2 Please let us know what they tell you when you call WDW as now you have got me hooked on figuring it out!

That's strange - I'm getting $300 and $320 for those dates as well!

I read your original post quickly...you mentioned 4 adults...so I was getting a rate that included the surcharge for more than 2 adults in the room since I was putting in 4 adults (not 2 adults and 2 children)

I reread your original post...and noticed that for room rate purposes, your children are children (as opposed to adults for dining or park ticket purposes).

I apologize for the mistake...hopefully you were able to determine the discrepensy (sp?).

Thanks everyone for trying to help me find out where I was wrong. Think I have it figured out.

When I priced originally, did it on-line and tax was not included. Also, the last night is excluded from the discount.

At this point, since I've already waited this long, I might as well wait a couple more days and see if a general public free dining code comes out I can use. :rolleyes1

Do have a couple of questions though. My inlaws have now decided they want to go with us. Will I be able to book a package for them also using either the 35% discount or FD? Also, on FD, if we are checking in on October 2nd and the dates are the same as on the visa offer, we will be able to use FD the entire stay, correct?

Thanks everyone for their help!
