This our second time Going with out the kids. We want to try restaurants that we wold not usually take the kids. These are the restaurants I was thinking about; Concourse steakhouse, Grand Floridian Cafe, Coral Reef, Boma, Cape May Cafe, Chef de France, and Garden Grill.Any opinions on these choices or any other suggestions would be great. Thanks from a first time poster.

First WELCOME to the DIS!!! Use w/ caution...You WILL become ADDICTED!!!
To answer your questions I would recommend Garden Grill... Fabulous They changed the menu back to the old one so the food is back to being GREAT and you get fantastic character interaction. I recommend going at an off time to get more time w/ them.
Second I would HIGHLY recommend BOMA. Absolutely FANTASTIC. This is one of our families favorites. Great food and well the atmosphere is out of AFRICA!!! Everyone will love it! Have a great trip.

Wow your list looks like my "Need to try that one day" list! We have Boma planned this upcomming trip and I'm very excited. I've heard only amazing things about the resturant. I see that you have Cape May Cafe on your list. Now, I LOVE this resturant. You get great food at a very good price (DBF even got me the plate of crab legs, for $10.00 extra, and they were just as good as Fulton's Crab House but there were 3 times as many! Amazing!) :cloud9: . But I would not hesitate to bring the kiddies along to this one.... It's a very kid friendly resturant, with a little section set up just for them. So go by yourself this time AND with the kids next time! Other than that, your list looks great. You'll have to let us know about Chef de France... Always hear mixed reviews on that one! Have a Magical trip!! :wizard:

Welcome to Dis. Looks like a great list. If your looking for a nice romantic place try Citricos one of the best at WDW. Maine :firefight

I did not realize that Garden Grill was a character meal .We may wait for the kids to try this one. We have done boma before and loved it .We won't bring the kids back because they don't eat very much so it wasn't worth the price.

Those are all good choices. My absolute favorites are Ohana in the Polynesian and Le Cellier in Epcot/ Canada. You wouldn't be disappointed. www.allearsnet.com has menus of every restaurant in Disney...that might help with your decisions.

Have a great trip!

Without kids? I would pick Chef de France from your list! Love it.

I love Bomas and Cape May too. We dine there every vacation but there are lots of children and it can be a little noisy. Plus you will miss your kids when you see so many others. I would select a restaurant where there are fewer children such as California Grill. Palios, Flying Fish, Artist Point, Chef de France, Le Cellier,Spoodles, Narcoossees ect.

What type of food are you lookinging for?:) I would look for a nice atmosphere . DH and I are going to do this soon and are looking at the Narcoossees or the Yachtman? If you really love Bomas though (as I do) go there. We go, but bring the kids. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Don't forget about Flying Fish on the Boardwalk and Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. Artist Point is very romantic and if you go before sunset, the views from the restaurant are spectacular.

My favorite that my husband and I do without the kids is the Yachtsmen Steakhouse at the Yacht Club.

I LOVE their spinach salad and their bananas foster martinis!!! (and the steak ain't bad, either!!)

Cape May is character bfast. I don't think Concourse Steakhouse is particularly unkid friendly - you could definitely take your kids there. It isn't THAT great, either.

I LOVE the Brown Derby in MGM. Yummy stuff! Everything has been delicious when I have been there.

The Coral Reef - your kids would like it! You can sit next to the fish tank, they have menus with the different fish on them for the kids to check off as they see them swim by, special glowing drinks for kids. I would do that one with kids.

We have not tried the California Grill in all the times we have stayed at the CR. I would want to try that one w/out kids.

Good luck & happy planning!! You have some great places to choose from, but these two - YM steakhouse and BD are my FAVES!! (with or without kids!!)

I have been wondering about the crab legs. How many do you get? We leave in 5 days and have ressies to go here but my family is just so so about it. If they hear they have good crab legs - they are much more likely to want to visit.

Welcome to the Dis, Disneysfab5!

When we get a trip without the kids,or even a night out without them in WDW, we like to go to Yachtsman Steakhouse. While kids are more than welcome there, I dont know I would want to take mine there because I would be rushing through the meal and not enjoy it as much as I should.

Do most prefer the Yachtsman Steakhouse over the Concourse Steakhouse? We have never been to the contemporary Resort and that is why we thought about eating at the Concourse. What is the atmosphere over at the Yacht club? We like interesting restaurant settings that we wouldn't find anywhere else but Disney.

The night I went they were giving like 4 clusters on a plate, which is a lot of crab legs. Took me about an hour to crack and eat them all!!!! And they were so yummy! I would highly recommend this resturant to everyone. All the other food was great too.. meat, potatos, soups, a great salad bar.... it was all great, even the price!!!
