I can't figure out when to do our character meal. We have the package premium vouchers from Costco. We are going M-Th after thanksgiving. We'll already be in CA, staying at SIL's in Mission Viejo a few days prior for Thanksgiving. We are driving to DL Monday morning first thing, checking into GCH, then going to DL, we have MM Tuesday and Thursday. We have it narrowed down to Ariels or Goofy's breakfast. I think we are going to do Goofy's since we can do it before the parks open and not waste park time, although I'm still really torn as DD is 3 and loves princesses, but she loves everyone. Should we try to do it on Monday or schedule it for Wednesday? What would you do? or do it before a MM?

We've never done a character meal so I haven't a clue how to best work it.
Thanks!

Trying to do a character meal on a Magic Morning day would be difficult, unless you are willing to give up park time. We have in the past gone for MM, stayed a few hours, then did the meal.....this worked for our family.

Both Goofy's & Ariel's do run for the lunch hour......so that is also an option.

Goofy's usually has one princess during the meals.....but not always....sometimes you get Minnie or Alice instead...you just never know. They have a huge buffet and run a brunch or dinner.

Ariel's is served family style & you will see Ariel and 4 other princesses.

Both are great & worth losing a little park time.....this keeps you from standing in long character lines at the park....so it might even save you time ;)

Have fun on your trip & good luck with your choice!

Since you've gotten it narrowed to Monday or Wednesday (due to Tues/Thurs Magic Mornings)--I would suggest Wednesday. I'd be too nervous to chance SoCal traffic if you're driving in for an early breakfast, imagine the heartbreak if you were stuck in traffic and missed your ADR! :sad1:

Also, since you said your little one is entering the 'princess phase' (some of us never grow out of it either LOL!) I would definitely go for Ariel's--when our daughter was four we went to dinner at Cinderella's Castle on her first WDW trip. I will NEVER forget how awestruck she was, every princess she met on that trip was amazingly sweet with her, and she felt so special! (She wore her princess dress-up gowns too and it tickled us how when the princesses were around, she really got into character!) Bet she'll love Princess Fantasy Faire too :cutie:

Now my dd's almost ten, she's declared herself too big for princesses--it goes so fast!

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

If you think it might be nice to start your trip on Monday with a character meal, I say go ahead and make the reservation. Then as a backup plan, also make a reservation for Wednesday morning. If you find you get hung up in traffic and aren't making it to the Monday reservation, you can always call ahead and cancel and still have the Wednesday one set up. If you do make the Monday reservation, you can cancel the Wednesday one.

So here's what I would do, instead of bfast I would do lunch......I would do lunch at AG on your Monday, start your trip with an awesome meal and let your DD meet the Princesses. The food at AG is much better at lunch over bfast and think of the memories you'll have of DD meeting the Princesses, so worth it!! :)
