we will be at Disney from Sunday to Sunday. We arrive late on the 15th only time for 1 dinner meal, and will be leaving early on the 22nd will have only breakfast.

I already have (3) 2 credit reservations booked Spirit, Hoop, and California Grill.

I don't want to end up with not enough credit. I am thinking of canceling one of these.

So, can someone please explain exacted how the credits work for DDP.

THANKS:yay:
Oh we are 2 adults and 1 child.

If you are staying 7 nights you are entitled to 7TS, 7CS and 7 Snack credits for each member on your reservation who is on the DP.

If you have 6 already booked you have just one TS credit left. Assuming you use that for dinner too, you will need to use 3 CS credits to cover dinner on your remaining nights. Otherwise you'll be paying OOP for meals.

You can have some wonderful and large meals for dinner using those CS credits so sharing those CS credits is realistic.

Which dining plan are you on? Regular (1TS, 1CS & 1snack per night), Deluxe DDP (3 credits(TS or CS), 2 snacks per night)

The amount of credit you have depends on which plan you are on. Credits are also based on the amount of nights of your reservation, not days. Child credits are for kids 9 +under, only kids meals can be ordered with a childs credit. A 10 year old will have the Adult plan & credits.

A Sunday to Sunday stay is 7 nights, that means on the regular DDP each person will have 7 TS credits & 7 CS credits (on the DxDDP each person would have 21 credits).

On the regular DDP, some of us (me) believe that it's better to pay OOP (out of pocket) for 2 credit meals.

thanks we are on the DELUXE dining plan.

So, will my 8 yr old have less credits than us?

No, everyone will have 3 credits per day (21 credits each over 7 days, plus 14 snacks each). Your 8yo's meal credits will have to be used on kid's meals only, though.

You will all have 21 total credits + snacks. The 8 year old will just order from the kids menu unless the restaurant doesn't offer a kids menu.

Sounds like you better start planning some more meals ;) A lot of people on DxDDP like to have breakfast & then a 2 credit dinner with a couple of snacks during the day. It can be hard to find the time to eat 3 full meals a day and do anything else :goodvibes

We were on the DxDDP last summer. Two times we ordered room service at the quiet pool at the YC it was a late lunch/early dinner and it was awesome!!

So it sounds like you have 20 meals to cover if you want Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner each day.

You'll have 21 credits each. The question is how many days will want to eat all three meals using a full credit (either at a counter service or full service location).

If you want to eat at the three 2 credit meals you currently have scheduled you would need to "lose" 2 meals. However you could easily cover a light breakfast with snack credits for several days, or if your doing a big breakfast, skip lunch and have a few snacks to tide you over to dinner. Snacks seem to last forever when you have 2/person/night (you will have a total of 42 snack credits -2x3x7).

If doing this sounds reasonable to you, you can easily keep your two credit meals. Like a previous poster mentioned, a lot of Deluxe Dining Plan users enjoy the 2 credit meals. They will plan a 2 credit meal for each night of their stay and use the other credit for either lunch or breakfast and snack the rest of the time.
