Help with dates for 2005, easter and May

Trying to start planning for our 2005 trip, and we have agreed on easter or may.

What i need to know(as my little diary dates dont go that far), is roughly when will easter be, and also the may bank holiday?. Were looking to go for 3 weeks again, and need to tie in the dates preferably with when schools are on holiday(we know the third week will overlap,but as long as we give the school plenty of notice, it will be fine to take DS out)

Anybody help?.

Here they break up on the 24th MArch and go back on the 11th April for easter in 2005

In May it's break up on the 27th and back on the 6th June.

Easter weekend in 2005 is March 25th-28th, I guess they break up the day before because it's so early that year.

Easter School Holidays as from 2005 will be the 2nd and 3rd week of April , they are just going to have Good Friday and Easter Monday off, that is schools in Essex, i dont know about everywhere else, so i would check it out.

We have been told that here in Hetdfordshire our holiday pattern will also change substantially from Sep 2004 but they can't confirm what the new timing will be.

Working for a local council, I can confirm that in many parts of the country (although I don't think all), the Easter holiday as such will not exist from 2005 onwards.

There will be a fixed two week 'Spring' holiday in April at the same time each year - probably the first two weeks, but it will no doubt vary between counties. If Easter happens to fall within these two weeks then no one will notice a difference, but if not then the kids will get Good Friday and Easter Monday off, then go back to school as normal on the Tuesday, and THEN get their two weeks off separately.

What I'd suggest you do is look at the website for your county council - they will have the dates this far in advance. Well, at least OURS does...!

Up here in sunny Scotland (my area anyway) the schools break up for easter on 2nd April, returning on the 18th April. We have one Mayday holiday on the 3rd.

We have booked to go 23rd April as the easter crowd should all have gone home so hopefully a little less busy....thats the theory.we'll have to wait and see
