I think technically, they are not allowed to accept monetary tips. If a guest is insistent, then it's placed in an office fund and used for the group.
We actually have never really needed much assistance from the CM staff once we arrive. I usually have everything taken care of by the pre-planners before we even go on vacation. In planning my December trip, I thought I asked them to go a little bit above and beyond what they would normally do. The trip was a surprise and they did a great job with how they contacted me and the resort shopping for a few special gifts. I sent down a chocolate basket for the entire staff of the pre-planning department and made sure to write a note of praise to management.
Not sure you're resort experience, but at the deluxes, your luggage is brought up by a bellman. You already mentioned mousekeeping and you'll also have turn down service done on your room. That's replacing any towels or toiletries you used during the day, emptying the trash, turning down the covers on your bed, leaving the TV or radio playing softly and keeping a light on for you. Not as extensive as the full housekeeping, so we normally tipped $1 per bed or $2 minimum. I'm not saying that any of these positions expect a tip, just that they are accepted.
