Hey Girls,

Are there any flavours that we should taste at the planning session, I have been told 4 cakes and 8 fillings and the list is huge that i dont know what to taste!!

Your help would be great

Well, let's see... you probably don't need to taste the buttercream filling because you don't really have a choice about it being on the outside of your cake (under the fondant, if you have fondant). Some people really like the fruit flavors, and others are disappointed by some of them, so you may want to taste these to decide for yourself. And some have said the almond cake didn't taste almondy enough, so that's another you might want to try for yourself.

The choice was easy for us b/c I hate liqueur and fruit flavors, so that left all the chocolate ones, peanut butter, peanut butter cup, buttercream and cream cheese (which tasted like it'd picked up the flavor of whatever was next to it in the fridge - ick!).

I guess if I hadn't had such definite ideas about flavors, I would have asked to try the ones that I couldn't imagine how they'd taste. I mean yellow cake doesn't vary much, but red velvet can be really good or really dry and yucky.

Have fun!

cream cheese was on the list along with carrot cake!! Yes yellow cake I thought we didnt need to taste as well as chocolate cake cos surely they would be standard.

If you're not opposed to fruit flavors I'd suggest tasting the raspberry mousse. We had that with marble cake and it was delicious - not too sweet nor too tart. It even tasted good on our first anniversary after one year in the freezer. I've also heard good things about the chocolate peanut butter cup. Have fun taste testing!

Does anyone have the list of cake flavors they can send me? Or know where I can find one? TIA!

I do I have one from my planner, let me know your address email

Ooh is it possible for me to get a copy also?
I'm supposed to fill out these questionaires before our planning session but I never received a listing for the the cakes... :headache:

Thank you!

Just thought I would chime in about the flavors. I agree with the Lurkyloo, I'm not usually a fruit person. Kris insisted on trying the orange and guess what I loved it! We ended up picking it as one of our layers. The lemon was okay, but the orange was very airy. We are also having carrot with cream cheese and chocolate with peanut butter cup filling. :thumbsup2

We are having chocolate with milk chocolate mousse on the bottom and top layer. The middle is marble with strawberry mousse and we have a slab cake to make up the rest of the servings and it is almond cake with amaretto mousse. I was a little disappointed with the chocolate mousse as chocolate mousse cakes are my favourite. It just wasn't quite sweet enough, but I didn't love anything else, so we picked it.

I know a couple of people asked for list of favors....since this is on the Disney website, I'm assuming it's current:

Hope it helps!

Im not a big fruit person either but ended up with 2 different fruit fillings in my cake!

We had - marble cake with chocolate mousse (wanted something quite plain for the fussier eaters and the kids) but this was yummy! Chocolate cake with raspberry mousse and fresh raspberries! This was delicious!!

My top layer was yellow cake with tropical mousse - this was also delicious! We had a cake that fed 50 and only 25 people but we didnt end up with any left over LOL!

Laura, that tropical mousse sounds so great - I am definately going to ask for it - I even put a note in my PJ to ask for it when we go, hahaha.

We only requested to try the peanut butter filling and Im so glad we did!!! It was the best flavor!

We ended up having:

*chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (bottom and anniversary layer!)
*marble cake with white chocolate filling (this was more of a pudding consistancy which made the cake really moist!!! DELICIOUS!!)
*marble cake with milk chocolate filling!

For the bottom layer of our cake we had marble with raspberry mousse, which everyone thought was excellent. We heard "this is the BEST wedding cake EVER" over and over. I actually didn't love the cake itself, but the mousse was quite yummy. So I would definitely recommend the raspberry mousse! I've heard the strawberry mousse is really good, too. :thumbsup2

For our top layer we had chocolate with what was supposed to be peanut butter cup filling. Now, my understanding is that peanut butter cup filling is a mixture of peanut butter and dark chocolate mousses. Well, what we wound up with was definitely just peanut butter. I think we ended up with the peanut butter mousse, which is just plain peanut butter, no chocolate... In any case, neither one of us was crazy about this layer of our cake. So, if you decide to go with a peanut butter filling, I would definitely ask for the peanut butter cup rather than the mousse. I'm sure it would be much better.

we had chocolate and amaretto, this cake was so delicious, even some of my family who don't really like sweet things, commented on how lovely this was, they even went back for seconds. We only had 17 guests and it fed 85 people, but all I can say is that flavour is so scrummy, I could eat some now!!

This is the flavors we used for the groom's cake and it was amazing!!! I had chocolate with raspberry mousse on my bottom tier of my wedding cake and yellow cake with passionfruit mousse on the top. The chocolate/amaretto combo was everyones favorite!! I didn't care for the raspberry that much but more people liked it than the passionfruit (which I loved!).
