Help with baby girl names

we settled on marissa. we figured she could be: missa, maris, mari or isa if she chose to. she has encountered some marissas in her 11 years, but never one in her classroom. she is able to find personalized items.

My niece is Marissa. I call her Rissa. I wasn't big on the name at first, but now I can't picture her as anything else.

I love my niece's name Larissa Grace. Grace is passed down through our family from my grandmothther. Boy is it becoming popular!

I like Ava. Ava Grace would be nice. I guess Grace is like Ann/Anne during my time. It seemed like every other girl's middle name was Ann or Anne.

We have a Greek last name, so we stayed with Greek names. My DD12 is Eleni Catherine Georgette and the one who died was Stacia Mary Catherine.

I think the name Eleni is so pretty. My mom's boss is named that, and she named her daughter that as well. Such a pretty name. And yes, her father's side is Greek.

If our baby is a girl, we are naming her Avery Morgan. My DH and I agreed on Avery right away. I also like the name Kayla but I think it is too close to my name (Kelly). I also really like the name Lilly, but I didn't realize that until we named our cat that :guilty:

I thought you might be interested to know....in my first grade classroom I have both a Kayla & a Lilly. :flower:

My granddaughter (9 months old) is Callista Avery. I love both names, and Callista is Greek for "most beautiful." It definitely suits her!

Her big brother is Sebastian Rhys.

Some other names of children of friends that I think are pretty:

Rhianna
Cadence
Beatrice
Aine (pronounced anya)
Aria
Nell (short for Elenora)

Teresa

I have 3 children My oldest is my DS his name can be either boy or girls
it's Avery Taylor and I also have 2 DD who the older DD name is Alyssa Elizabeth and my youngest DD is Ayden Victoria . Yes they all have A's and Y's in there names it wasn't planned didn't even realized til after they were all named.

My DD's name is Alyssa Elizabeth also :rotfl: !!! Doesn't it sound so regal???

DH 30 :earsboy:
DW 32 :earsgirl:
DD 8 princess: Jasmine
DD 7 princess: Ariel
DS 4 pirate: Capt Jack
DD 17 months princess: Belle

My princesses are Caitlyn and Chloe. Neither were specifically family names, but both had roots and histories that stuck with us.

Well, our family has gone for the more tradtional names and my daughter married an Irishman, so our granddaughter's name is Matylda (and we call her Maty). There isn't a person we meet that doesn't absolutely love the name!

Congratulations on expecting a girl! We had fun naming ours. :) She is Tessa, and although it's becoming popular in fiction and on TV, I haven't heard it much around town.

I like old fashioned names for girls. Love the name Maggie!! We considered it, but MIL's mother was margaret and she didn't like her much so we crossed it off the list.

I also like
Charlotte
Lillian

Audrey is nice. Names with "unique" spellings I'd think would be difficult for kids. Our son is Griffin (my apologies to the person who doesn't like last names as first names) and the one letter people can get wrong, they do! We see "griffen" all the time. It doesn't bother us, but it was unexpected.

Gillian with a G is a great name :p, but it used to be difficult for people to pronounce. I think it's better known now.

My DD(8) is Abigail Marie, called Abby. If her brother would have been a girl he would have been Catherine Ann called Katie.
Friends/family have named their girls:
Taylor
Casey
Madeline (3 of them)
McKenzie
Ellie
Emma
Hannah
Sarah
Micah
Greta
Tessa
Tara
Riley
Lucy
The list goes on and on and on....

Congrats...girls are sooo much fun...

One of my daughters is on a soccer team with 10 girls and 2 are Riley! She also has some of the other more popular names like Jenna, Taylor, Megan..you can tell by their ages what was popular when.

My daughters names are Alexa and Christina. Alexa is almost 12 and the name was not very common then although its getting a bit more now.

I have always liked Sarah, Emma, Lauren, Caroline

Another thing to think about that happens with Alexa is when you go places that have personalized items its very hard to find her name even now..some of the 'newer' names the kids will never find anything unless its personally done. Believe it or not it upsets my daughter!

I like: Ashley Taylor
Paige Cassidy
Brookelyn Renee

Best of luck to you and congrats!!! My kids are my life~!!!

Some names I have seen and loved are:
Cassandra
Adrianna
Laren
Bridget
Felicia
Ashlee
Elizabeth (Beth for short)
Wendy
Meredith
Melissa
Tanis
Jennifer
Lynne

Our DD3 is Meredith Anita. Anita is after my grammie who passed away in '91. Her name was Gladys Anita, and she REALLY disliked her first name and made my grampa call her Anita. DH and I chose Meredith because it was the ONLY name we agreed on. I made a list of names I liked, and DH crossed them all off.

I call her Meredith, DH insists on calling her Merry. UGH! The cutest is the way she says her name, Mare- de- def. :flower:

Our DD's name is Alicen Marie. We also call her Ali. I haven't seen anyone else spell it the way we do. We named her after my grandmother, her name was Alice Marie, so we just put an "n" on the end.

We chose Emilee Alyson for our DD. It was going to be Alyson (Aly for short), but she just needed more 'name' when she was born - I am sure a lot of parent's know what I mean. You can have the best of intentions and have the whole name picked out, but when the little one appears, some names are just not right and some are perfect. My son was supposed to be Nicholas, but it wasn't right for him, so now he is a Riley (though they had to practically threaten DH and I to sign the papers after 3 days - we could not decide at all after having our Nicholas all picked out).

Congratulations and good luck! Remember - keep an open mind - you never know! :goodvibes

How about Mia? Love that name. Mia Rose

also:

Isabella
Ava
Ella

My daughter are Cassandra Marie Elaine and Isabella Theresa Maria.

We didnt know know what our new baby was going to be and these are the girls names I narrowed it down to:

Angelina
Gabriella
Chloe
Sofia
Athena
Loralei
Mia
Ella

Thankfully we had a boy. I didnt know what 1st name and 2 middle name I would of picked.
