Help with avatar pic

Hi,

As you can tell, I'm new to this and need help!!! When I try to upload a picture to use in my avatar, it gives me the "this photo does not meet the specs" message. I believe I read that the pic has to be no more than 100x100pixels or 3.9 kb. How many cm (or, I guess, inches for those from the USA!) are in a pixel? I really want to use this pic and am trying everything to change it, but they still won't accept it!
