Help with AK

We have a room booked for the WL in Oct. and I think I just talked my husband into trying the AKL. If we switch and stay in a savanah view room (which I really want to do) it will cost about $500 more (we have a standard view room at WL) My question is, what would be a good savanah area to request? We want a good view but we also want to be fairly close to the lobby, bus stop, etc.. We have two young kids and don't want to walk too far. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help in advance.

We had room 2435 on the Zebra Trail. It was about 2 sections off of the lobby. Very short walk, yet away from the noise. I thought it was a great location. Also just around the corner from our room was the elevators which take you to the first floor where the pool and Mara (the foodcourt) are located. Our room had a queen bed and then the bunk set. We also had an extra dresser in our room which gave us plenty of space. I really prefer the Arusha Savannah, but I am sure there are others who prefer different savannahs. Actually, we are staying again this summer at AKL in a standard room. There are so many places to see the animals around the resort I booked a standard room to save money so we can stay longer (9 nights). Good luck with your trip planning.

We stayed on the Kudo trail...awesome view of the water hole and Girraffes no zebras or wildebeasts my understanding is they were on the other side of the resort. We had the girraffes, Thompsons gazelles, Vultures, that i can recall. However great the view... it was a solid ten minute walk to everything. I fealt like I had done a day at the park before I left. Everything else at the resort I enjoyed it was just really far from our room to anything. In retrospect, I would have to stay there again as my little guys would probably be disapointed if they did see as many girraffes...

thanks twinmomplustwo We do not want a 10 minute walk to the lobby, etc.. but I would love to be close to the giraffe.

Zebra Trail!

You'll see giraffes there too! And it is so convenient to get to the pool area, restaurants, store, buses and lobby.
