I'm going to AK on Jan 27, which is a very low day for the parks and the AK specifically. so this may not be super important, but I had to ask! I have the following plan:
9-safari
10-lion king(have FP)
10:45-flights of wonder
11:30-Yak and Yeti TS
12:15-jungle trek
12:45-bug
1:15-Dinosaur (have FP)
Do I need a FP for the Safari at rope drop? Touring plans recommended doing a FP for the Lion King and not the Safari which I found a bit odd, but what do you all think? These are the only attractions I'm interested in so don't tell me to get a FP for Everest!
I can't get FP for both Safari and Lion King because of the time overlap. Lion king is a 9:30-9:50 time window. (Right now I have a Safari FP for 10:55 in case I miss rope drop. I'll sub it in for Flights and then add Flights at the end of the day.)

You should be fine on the Safari in the morning. it is a bit of a trek :-) But great fun...

I did the exact same 3 attractions (in the same order) at rope drop on the morning on Sept 27 without FP+. IMO, you won't need them either. However, I do like your idea of getting a later FP for the safari in case you miss RD.

My only tip is to remember you only have 15 minutes to get out of FotLK and to find a seat at FoW. That 15 minutes goes by fast if you're not paying attention.

I also wanted to add...

Josh from Easy WDW tested FP+ for FotLK one afternoon in October and had this to say:

FP+ is largely useless here in my estimation. I arrived 35 minutes early only to find about 100 people already in line in front of me. Maybe 150 people with FP+ arrived behind me. Had I arrived at the same time in standby, I would have been towards the front of that line and found a similar spot in my choice of sections, instead of being routed over to elephant.

Since it is a must do for you may want to get the FotLK FP just for peace of mind because you can always switch it out if the standby line isn't bad. I doubt you'll have a hard time switching around fast passes in the park that morning if you feel you need to. BUT, I really don't think you'll have a problem getting a good seat via standby since you'll be there at a less crowded time and you're planning to hit the first show of the day.

FWIW, your itinerary is really well done. I may want to copy it on my next trip. :thumbsup2

I am glad to see I'm not the only one who is trying to do Safari, Lion King, and Flights of Wonder back to back to catch the first showing of the shows! :) Hopefully it all works out and we can get to Flights of Wonder in time!! If we don't I have a back up plan.

As long as you don't get distracted by gift shops or photopass photographers then you will make it to FoW with at least 5 minutes to spare. Also, there often is a "show and tell" type of preshow outside of the FoW theatre that will probably be ending as you walk up. When I was there last they were showcasing an owl. So if you don't care about missing that then you'll be fine.

I also wanted to point out that with the Safari, FotLK and FoW you will be spending a lot of time sitting on hard surfaces. Your bum and back may hurt after awhile. Id thought I'd suggest using any extra jackets or scarves as cushions since both of you will be there at a chilly time and you'll probably have those things anyway.

If you're there at rope drop, no need to waste a FP on Kilimanjaro Safaris.

FotLK had a lot of seating in the old building, I would assume capacity is roughly the same. Since Dinosaur is one of your FP selections, Expedition Everest would be a better use of one than FotLK. Swap FotLK for a FP to EE. It's a really smooth, coaster, tame, coaster.

I think you may have not read all of OPs post. :rotfl2:

I think your plan looks good. You probably won't need FotLK FP+, but there is really nothing else to use FP+ for on your list.
