Hi Everyone,
I need a bit of help here!!! My DH and I aren't agreeing on a few things.
We are heading to Dis the from Oct 3rd to 10th. We have the free dining plan. On Wed that week we have a down day scheduled. We aren't sure what we will do that day and would like to leave it open to see how we feel.
We may head to a park or go to downtown disney. We'd like to be flexible.
My DH doesn't think we need to make an ADR. I think we do.
Does anyone have any advice on this. Have you ever gone to a restaurant without an ADR. Obviously it won't be a character meal or one of the really nice restaurants. I was just thinking the microbrewery on the boardwalk or the restaurant in the Wilderness lodge. Any tips or advice for this. Thanks so much for your help!!!

I wouldn't plan on eating at any table service without an ADR. It might be possible, but I'd hate to be disappointed. I haven't eaten at the Brewery. But we've been to Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL many times. It has always been very crowded with waits even with ADRs,so I wouldn't attempt that one without. I doubt walk ups are often available. You may try at the very beginning of dinner service, though. YOu can also call dining that morning and see if anything is available anywhere.

You could go to the ESPN club on the boardwalk - they do not take ADRs, but are on the dining plan.

Just go ahead and pick out a restaurant and make an ADR. If you decide closer to the trip (or on the trip) that you don't want it, then cancel it. Worse case scenario, its there if you need it.

Have never been to WDW at that time of year so I'm not sure of ADR's but did go to the brew pub on the Boardwalk you mentioned. The beer was great but the food was nothing special. Maybe it's changed because we visited several years ago but it wouldn't be my first choice for a dinner.
