I'm getting ready to make ADRs for my December trip. After trying Shula's in February, my DH and I are wanting to try another signature restaurant since it will be just the two of us again. We love steak, so I immediately thought of Yachtsman Steakhouse, but I've seem mixed reviews on here. Any seafood restaurant (like Flying Fish or Narcoossee's) is out since my DH has some seafood allergies. I read the menus for California Grill and Citricos, and nothing appealed to us. We didn't enjoy Boma, so I'm worried about Jiko, but I have read that the steak is great. I'm just worried about the appetizers, side items, and desserts. I really didn't think we were that picky, but now I'm starting to wonder. :rotfl: Does anyone have any suggestions for us? I really want to know more about Jiko and Yachtsman.

(Oh and we are saving Artist Point for when we stay at VWL with our teen boys.)

Try YSH we have been there many times and no complaints.:thumbsup2

I think you'll like YSH. Not as good as Shula's, but if it's steak you like, it's better (and has more variety) than the other Signatures.

My DH is a fish lover, but I am not. I have had wonderful steaks at the Flying Fish, Narcoossee's, Jiko, California Grill, and the Yachtsman. I also am not a fan of Boma. I really enjoyed the side items at Yachtsman - more mushrooms, please! Artist Point is quite nice - something to look forward to! Maybe you should try more than one!

Had an unbelievable meal at Yachtsman - I'd be shocked if you were disappointed at it. I have not seen those negative reviews you referred to,

I agree with the others to try Yachtsman :). We tried it for the first time last December and the filet was awesome :thumbsup2.

We much preferred YSH over Le Cellier our last trip. We had our leftovers for breakfast our last day. =D Best dining experience of the whole trip!

Ohhh, someone who has eaten at Jiko but didn't like Boma. Please tell me more. I'm really interested in the appetizers, side items, and desserts.

You guys love steak? You have to go to the Yachtsman! We ate there a few times and just once it was blah so we skipped it for a few years...Feb 11 we ate there again and it was amazing! The most incredible steaks I have had in a long time and we love the ones from FF and Citricos but the YM beat those that night

I am thinking of ditching my LC ressie for the YM

This comment is a great example of why I advise never to forever write off a Disney restaurant simply from a disappointing experience. Sometimes (with a new chef for example) restaurants do change over time, and sometimes they simply have an off-night.

I'm leaning toward Yachtsman. It's good to hear the good reviews. I'm still interested in Jiko though. I think the steak will be good, but I'm still concerned about the appetizers, side items, and desserts. Can someone tell me what they are like?
