Help with a new cricuit?

So here it goes! I got the expression for Christmas and have not tried to use it until this morning. Good grief, I cannot believe that it has been sitting there without me trying it out. So I read everything and tried to make a cut and it made an impression into the paper, but did not cut all the way through so I increased the cutting blade to a six and still did the same thing. It was a cardstock that I was using.

Did you check the pressure? You might need to increase the pressure...
Depending on the thickness of some cardstocks you may need to reload, and hit cut again... (I've had to do that)...

Thank you, that was the problem! I found the DVD that it came with and watched it. Whoo hoo, now off to play with it!
