Help with a middle name for baby Landon

Ash-leeng. It's an Irish language name, and depending on regional accent, the final g may or may not be pronounced. People don't get Ashley from the spelling, they get it from hearing it pronounced, because Ashley is common in America, and that's what they assume that they are hearing.

I expect that as she gets older she may even decide that it's less trouble to let people call her Ashley if they want. The nickname that we use is Rosie, for her middle name, Rose.

My baby daughter's name is Aisling. The possible negative twist on that one can't be posted here because of the stopword list, but we considered and decided that since most Americans are going to mispronounce the name anyway, the joke would probably not occur to them too often. Instead we just put up with people calling her Ashley all the time, which is annoying but not really unexpected, either.

My DD's name is Ashlynn. Do you pronounce Aisling the same way? I've heard it pronounced a couple different ways. She got the Ashley thing a lot when she was younger, but she got pretty vocal about correcting people pretty quick! It's almost always misspelled Ashlyn. Another Irish name we liked is Siobhan, but very few people can look at that one and pronounce it right.

Well - this is the 3rd time Ive seen someone mention the name "Landon" as their future son's name in about a year, on these boards.

I dont have any suggestions. Im a 'traditional' name kinda gal... and considering Ive had the ONLY Danny and the ONLY Joey in both my boys classes, they seem to be more unique.

Normally we are very traditional as well. We have a Michelle and a William already. Landon is my best friends maiden name. We have been best friends for 20 years. I was 14/15 when I met her and didn't have the best home life. Her parents took me under their wing and treated me as one of their own. If it weren't for them I don't know where I'd be today, but I know it wouldn't be where I am. Her father died about 2 years ago. We are naming this boy Landon to honor him and to thank them for teaching me what unconditional love was.
