I went to access the map I found on this website:

geocities.com/ashpsyche/DisneylandLinkMap.html[/url]

And now the map is gone.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Apparently the site shut down. Reasons unknown. :confused3

And when Darph says the site shut down, Darph means geocities.com shut down..not just poor Bret's DLR map site.

I know all the geocities sites are gone now:sad2:

I was so sad to see that Brets site was gone because I loved the map that showed all the lodging around the DL and DCA parks....does anyone know of any other maps that are like that one:confused::confused::confused:

Anyhow just bummed out about the loss:mad:

I would like to know the same thing... I loved that site and now its gone. IT was the best site for my wife and I to go to and look at hotels in the area. We actually used it last year to select our hotel and was using it to look at hotels for our planned trip in March. We haven't decided on that trip yet, but we're hoping.

FWIW I have e-mailed Bret twice to ask about his plans for his content but have not heard back. I hope he had it backed up somewhere.

Oh no!! Read post 4 here, where it says:

"I received a reply from Bret.

The LinkMap was something that Bret created 10 years ago after tiring of drawing countless maps for coworkers, family and friends detailing where to stay while visiting Disneyland. While Bret stated that he has received countless emails from grateful travelers over the last 10 years, he decided to shut it down after GeoCities was closed for good. He recommends Google Earth (with the lodging layer enabled). He tells me that is what he suggests to all his friends."

:sad1: I LOVED Bret's map!!

I know, I loved Bret's map too!!! I saw the map that someone else posted on here and it looks OK, but nothing like Bret's. Any more suggestions for good maps out there?

That totally bums me out :(

Yes but alas, all that was Geocities was shut down for good by Yahoo. Why? Not really sure, I just know that this was something that was done not long ago, by Yahoo. Cannot remember their lame excuse right off. Oh well ..... hopefully someone else will come out with a nice map like that again.

I had been looking at Brett's map where my ex had posted it on the wall for most of last year. I was cleaning up and know could kick myself because I don't know where I put it. I also think it is the best one I have seen.

I have this map. I have not figured out how to zoom in to make the hotel names legible. Maybe someone else can figure it out. Otherwise it is a great map of the surrounding area/restraunts/stores

Is this the map you mean?

I have it saved to my pictures, but am unsure how to link it or attempt to do so. If anyone wants to help me, I will do my best to figure out how to get it to where it needs to be. Maybe if I send it as an attachment to someone or something?

Oh how funny that we posted at the same time, this is the map that is in my link in the post above yours

LOL. GMTA!

I printed that map out and stuck it in my vacation binder. I constantly look at it when I am pre-planning stuff.
