We are making our first visit to Disney and are a little overwhelmed. We have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. We are looking at Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach but we are open to suggestions in that price range. We will be there for a week and plan to visit all of the parks. Please make suggestions of where to stay and why. Thanks

With your age of children, I would recommend Port Orleans Riverside. We stayed there back in 07 and the kids loved the pool. My son and I stayed at the Caribbean Beach in 2011 but didn't use the pool as he was to old but it was quite a trek as it is such a large resort. I will be staying at POR next year with my daughter. The landscaping and pool is just to nice to pass up. I think you will be happy with either Moderate. Good luck!

would say POFQ - here are some pictures including the pool - which is cute

it is a sister resort to POR - so they can use all the recreation stuff including the pools at each resort.

POFQ has one pool

POR has 5 pools - one main pool and 4 community pools.

POFQ and POR both have quick service. Only POR has a restuarant.

only stay at a moderate if you intend to spend time here. If you are going to the parks from the time you awake up until you almost asleep - stay at a value.

Welcome to the DIS!!!

Agree with POFQ. It is a compact resort so there isn't as much walking. The slide there is great as well. My boys loved it!

I would go with Port Orleans Riverside..we have stayed there twice its a great place! plus your little ones would love the boat ride to downtown disney!!:drive:

POR...book a preferred room! I love the resort, the food court is nice and the boat to DTD is neat for the little ones.

Out of the moderates, we've only stayed at CBR and we loved it. We had a great stay as the grounds were beautiful, the food court was good with alot of variety, the bus transportation was quick and efficient, and the pool was great. With that said, the pool has been redone since our stay and has a great pirate theme. I think your kids would have a blast and love the pirate pool. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose.

OP for a 1st trip and the ages of your kids, i'd go with a value (ASMo or Mu) and apply the savings towards 'extras' in the parks.

That said, PORFQ is one of our favorites as to theming and compact size, but has been pricing out much higher that other moderates for dates i've checked this year.

Thanks for all the help. We ended up booking the CBR. I think our kids will really enjoy the pool.

CBR is great there are a lot of little play ground areas the main pool is great. You will love it. did you get a pirate room?

Hope you have a great time at CBR! we love the relaxed island decor and don't mind the size of the resort because we don't mind walking when there is so much to see.

CBR is a beautiful resort, but it is very large. So I recommend paying for a preferred room near the main pool, if that is the reason you are staying at CBR. Otherwise you can be a good walk away from it.

Thanks for all the help. We ended up booking the CBR. I think our kids will really enjoy the pool.

They will also love the island "Carribbean Cay". I had a hard time getting my ds to the pool when there was an island to explore!

Enjoy your trip !
