We have been to WDW many times, but with all the changes in the last three years since we've been, I feel like a newbie. We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside from Saturday, June 11th to Saturday, June 18th. We have 7 day tickets. We are flying in from St. Louis. I haven't booked our airfare yet, but I'm aiming for a morning flight on arrival and a late afternoon flight going home. We have two options: 1. We go to a park on arrival day and departure day and have a sleep in/pool/Disney Springs day in the middle, with rope drop on the other days. 2. We don't do a park on arrival day and do parks (rope drop) every other day.

Which plan would you do?

If it was me I would use your extra day for HS studios. AK is a half day park for us and we always do 2 day at HS. We last went 12/2019 and this will continue to be our plan. But we didn't even GO to AK in 2019 but I'm craving Festival of the Lion King and want to try Pandora and EE this time.

I think your plan of taking a non-park day in the middle is always a good one. Enjoy the pool or a water park, or just walking around shopping/eating at DS. If it might be of interest to you, perhaps even dinner and a Cirque show at DS that day. The rest of your trip is something only you can answer - which parks and when, which attractions are important, etc. You'll get 10 responses and 10 different answers regarding which park to do multiple days and which to do 1/2 days and which to do at rope drop. You'll also want to get up-to-date of G+ and ILL purchases to see if any of that would work well for you some of the park days. We're always anxious to get to a park if we arrive even early afternoon, so we'd look to hit a park that first day. All of your options are good ones! Have fun!

I plan on using G+, so can I log in at 7:00 on arrival day (even though we won't be at WDW yet) to get us reservations for rides later on in the day when we arrive?

The 7AM is correct, and you can do it remotely. But you can only schedule one LL attraction, and they will be shown with the 'next available' time slot - you can't actually select a time slot later in the afternoon (unless the times moves quickly). Then you can only get your next G+ attraction 2 hours after the park opens.

I would drop to a 6 day ticket and go to a park on arrival day, have a break day in the middle, and then not go to a park on departure day. Remember you should be leaving your resort to head back to the airport at least 3 hours prior to your flight. Personally it would stress me out to go to a park on departure day knowing the time crunch.

Due to last minute flight changes, we don’t do parks on travel days. We do rope drop park days on all of the days in between.
