I have finally made a decision for our December 07 trip to stay at OKW. I am now trying to find our which building would be best and which ones have an elevator in case we get a top floor unit, closest to the bus stops, pools, and Olivia's

Thanks for the help!!!

You can request a first floor unit and we always request buildings 11-14. Those are the ones directly across from the Hospitality House (Front Desk), the store, Olivias, and the main pool/marina! We always put our requests in with our reservation and have never been denied our requests! Good Luck!

I always ask for a room in the Peninsular Road area. It's close to two bus stops, and close to the main pool and Olivia's too.

In fact, we're going to OKW tomorrow , and I'm crossing my fingers that we get a room in that area.

Sharks2926 and Jimbo: Thanks for the infomation. I knew someone on the boards would know the answer. Jimbo hope you have a great trip!!! (I'm very jealous). Oh well, I have to wait another year, but it gives me something to look forward to!!! :hourglass

I never request a specific building or even a specific area. I have found wonderful things about almost any area I have stayed in at OKW. I usually only request non-smoking for medical reasons and leave it at that. There are only 3 buildings that have elevators, but even the 3rd floor is not difficult to get to in those buildings without them, because the steps are the low rise variety, and while that makes for more steps per landing, it also makes them easier for my DH to navigate with his arthritic knees. Be advised that one of those elevator buildings has GVs in it as well as handicapped rooms, so that could be a negetive to your plan. We have been in buildings across the street from the Hospitality House, and clear out on South Point at the farthest end of OKW, and both experiences were wonderful! One negetive when you are near HH, is that often in teh morning the buses will already be crowded with little room left since HH is the last place to board before leaving the resort. IT is definitely the busiest bus stop at OKW.

We have stayed in Building 23 two different times. While it does not have an elevator, we stayed on the first floor with my mother due to her arthritis problems.

We felt it was the perfect location. It was just across the bridge from the HH, Olivia's and the pool. We could sit on the balcony and watch the kids as they walked over to check out games.

It is also very close to the first bus stop, so that was very convenient. It had a lovely view of the water and golf course.

All in all, a perfect room (and non-smoking, of course).

Thanks for all the great insight!!

It sounds like there are really no bad areas in OKW. I will take all your info with us when we go, so I can make the best decision. Thats why I love this sight. It's great to get hands on experience when planning your trip.

Thanks again,

That's the area I was referring to. Being close to the first bus stop you get dropped off first at the end of the day, when everyone's so tired. But it's also real close to the Hospitality House, and that bus stop is the last stop before the bus heads to the park. So when we go to the park we just walk over to the HH to catch the bus. It lets you avoid the long bus ride around the resort.

I'm crossing my fingers that we get that area tomorrow. We're staying in a GV, and I know there's a couple of them there.

Jimbo,

Good luck!!! Don't forget to write about your trip when you get back. I will be looking for it. Have a great time, and eat a Dole Whip for me!!!

Thanks again,
