I know that this has been discussed many times, but I cant seem to find any info on specific bldgs. We did not book preferred as we do not care to be "close" to anything. We would however like a nice lake view and possibly a view of Illuminations. Anyone have a location that was great?

I'll bump this up for you. You could also post this question under the "Grooviest Pop Century" Thread.

On the POP picture thread somebody posted some very nice pics from the 60s building. She had nice things to say about the quiet location, and I believe they were near the lake.

I also 2nd the reccommendation for th 60's section and i also think its near by the lake

Two years ago we were in the 50's building, top floor, on the side opposite the bowling pin pool and had a nice view of Illuminations.

May have been me. I was in Bldg 3 upper floor for the second time last September and this room was great for viewing fireworks. We pulled up our chairs to window and just sat. We could watch EPCOT and Wishes, and had there been a private party at MGM we would have seen theirs too (saw them last year). We could see the Spaceship Earth, Tower of Terror, Swan/Dolphin from our room. Last time we stayed in a room just under the word DOO in second picture. We could see MGM but not EPCOT, although we could hear them and could walk around corner to watch.

Room was quiet and peaceful, a few minute walk to everything and we have requested it again for our trip next September. I am traveling with a son who is disabled so the walking distance is an issue as well as peace & quiet.

Ask for building 3 or 4 lakeview. I think the best views are from the 50's, but building 4 in the 60's is closer to the pool and foodcourt .If you request lakeview it won't be preferred or close enough to the pool to hear the noise.

Bldgs 2, and 3 of the 50's section both have areas that face towards the driveway into POP..it is just beyond the parking lot for those bldgs. If you are facing that way, with the lake to your left, you have a good chance of seeing Epcot. If you are on a lower level, just walk up to the top floors.
I was in bldg 2, waaay at the end of the bldg. In fact, if I walked out my door and turned left, I was at the end of the 'corridor' and I could just stand there and watch IllumiNations. The parking lot was almost below me.

Thanks for all of your help- I have called to note our preference and I will fax it in a few days before our arrival. I have learned so much from this site!
