Hello!

We have breakfast at other resorts every morning.... could you suggest how early we should leave from the AKL for each of the following?

Kona Cafe - Polynesian - 9am
1900 Park Fare - GF - 9am
Cape May Cafe - BC - 9am

I assume we'd take a bus from AKL to the closest resort and either walk or transfer?

Another question... does the bus from AKL take you to the MK directly? Or to the TTC??

Thank you SO much! :teeth:

i would allow at least an hour or more for the bus to the park/monorail or bus to the breakfast resort... for kona and 1900 take the MK bus and get on the monorail to the appropriate resort... for the cape may bfast, i would take the mgm bus and switch over the beach club bus or walk... but it's a lot of walking...

that's a lot of out-of-the-park breakfasts... not knowing how long you'll be at wdw for, it seems like a lot of travelling/time to eat breakfasts... you might want to reconsider your choices and either have character breakfast in a park (i.e. crystal palace is great) or go for a quick breakfast... imo you are using the "best" touring time eating!

You mean to the closest park, and walk or transfer from there, right? Probably not necessary - there are early buses designated for character meals (although you don't have to be dining at a character meal, you'll still be able to get to the right resort or park).
Most of the time, just tell the driver exactly where you're going. After boarding the right bus, of course. For example, take the one going to Magic Kingdom and tell the driver you're going to the Polynesian. Most likely, you'll be dropped off there.
Plan on getting the bus around 7:30 - 8:00.
And the buses do take you right to Magic Kingdom, not the TTC.

kaytieeldr is right about the busses MAYBE being able to drop you off right at the resort. That applies to early ADRs (more than 1 hour before the park opens. If you get on a bus after 8AM (or that park has morning EMH that day) he will not be able to drop you off.

There is no bus from MGM to any of the Epcot resorts.

For Cape May, (if MGM opens at 9 am that day), hope that the driver can drop you off at the resort because the boat won't get you there on time. The first boat FROM MGM will be right at opening.

Now if MGM has morning EMH, the boat will be running at 8AM and you will be OK.

I agree!!!! BUT, we've been to Disney many times... and this is our first time staying ON-site. Yeah! So, this trip is more about visiting the different resorts and taking in all the Disney atmosphere we've missed all the years!!!

Thanks!

From AKL to Kona Cafe, I would go to MK and then take either the monorail or the ferry to the Polynesian...I would hop on the first available bus from AKL, just to be sure to have enough time.
To 1900 Park Fare I would do the same thing as for Kona Cafe.
For Cape May it's a little tougher. You could take the bus to MGM, the earliest one possible again, and then take the boat from MGM to Beach CLub, or walk via the pathway. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from MGM to YC/BC. Or you could just take a cab from AKL to BC.

And yes, the bus will take you right to MK from AKL.

And yes, again...sometimes you get lucky and a bus driver will drop you at the resort you have a meal scheduled for. And you can't get a bus to BC from MGM, as stated...it's either walk or take the boat. I'm not sure what time the boats start running between MGM and BC...it would be early since that is the only transportation, other than walking. So, you should be able to hop on a boat that is returning from dropping people off at MGM...but not sure what time they start.

Good luck...and have fun visiting the different resorts. We did that in '01, visited BW and ended up buying DVC there two years later!!!!

Do you have any idea how much this would cost?? :moped:

Wazzo,
We leave on the same day. My Dh and I are also staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge---maybe we'll see you there. We are eating at the 1900 Park Fare on Feb. 7th at 8:50, so maybe you'll be there too!! Oh, well I hope you have a good vacation.

How are you planning to get there and what time are you leaving? I'm new at this, I've never stayed on-site before!! Yeah! :cheer2:

We've taken cabs a few times when we didn't feel like dealing with buses/transferring etc. We took a cab from Poly to AKL (after Ohana's) and I believe it was approximately $10.00. We felt it was worth it since it was a little later and my son was very tired. I don't think I ever spent more than $15 for a cab on disney property. We usually only do it one way, once or twice during our stays. Still cheaper than renting a car even if you did this a few times during your stay.

our cab from AKL to the contemporary was about $25 including tip... there were four of us... not sure if they charge by the person or the ride...
