Hi!

I was at JoAnne's the other day looking through the scrapbook stuff in the clearance bin and there was a set of "Black Grease Pencils" for $.50. They were made by Creating Keepsakes.

Does anyone know what these are and what they can be used for?

Thanks!

We used to use grease pencils on my H.S. yearbook staff to indicate crop lines on photographs being sent to the publishing company. They had a spiral strip that peeled off to expose more pencil as an alternative to sharpening. My dad has used the same pencils in his leather upholstery work since they will write on a slick surface. They are not like a permanent marker. I would describe them as having a waxy texture more like a crayon that will rub off with a tissue. They do make some that will sharpen. I believe Creative Memories has sold them that way. You can use them with stencil templates to trace and cut out a shape since any remaining lines can be wiped away. HTH

they are fantastic for making notes on the back of pics as they won't bleed through or leave pressure lines on your photos

Well, One easy way is that, Use a paper towel or your finger to smudge or erase any stray marks. Grease pencils can be smudged together, especially on glossy paper. Small errors can also be wiped off easily.
