Help! What do you say when other say, "You're going to WDW AGAIN"?

Actually the people at work don't give me a hard time. Some of them come see me when they are planning their trip. They know that's where we like to go and they like to hear about our trips.

But I do have some friends that give us grieve about how often we go. I usually don't even mention when we're going. But they like to bring it up just to be annoying.

I almost feel that I have to get my explanation ready for my family's questions!!! We have gone 3yrs in a row mainly since military discounts were so great. I feel as if I have to defend our decision. My father lives at the shore (Wildwood, NJ)and I never here from him "you are coming down the shore again?" I am making the same memories for my children that I still have of my family trips to WDW that started in the 70's.

My DH and I live in Tampa so we go to Disney as often as we can. That is honestly part of the reason we moved to FL! Anyway, we usually just take day trips every other Saturday or so, but every couple of months, we stay in a resort for a long weekend and everyone seems to think we're crazy for that! It's only 90 minutes, so I can see where spending that much money on a Disney resort can seem crazy, BUT, when I'm up there I feel like I'm a million miles away from work and life - it's completely worth it to me. I hate having to defend myself to coworker and friends and family who think we're nuts. Either you get it or you don't, and the people who don't will never understand!

I'm really enjoying this thread! It's nice knowing we're not alone! One thing that just crossed my mind, however, is that I would NEVER make such comments to other people. I would never say, "you're going there AGAIN" or "why would you want to go there"? My cousin, for example, spends every possible spare moment at her family cottage and no one even blinks an eye over it. I guess I've just always held the philosophy that people are entitled to do whatever they want with their vacation money/time!! Life is short - live it up!

CJK- I know what you mean about you would never make such comments to other people, "You're going again, or Why would you go there?" That is the thing that gets me, am I the only one who has good relationship skills in my social circle and family? There are just some things you don't say or do to people, family or friends. Making you feel silly, or guilty that you like a particular place to spend YOUR time, money, is one of them. Its almost like you are taking their time and money.

I usually say "Yep!" And as I walk away I whistle "When you Wish upon a star."

My Mom's family learned not to say anything after I pointed out that they go to Branson, MO to the same resort, and do the same thing every year. I do that too - I just choose to do it in a different location.
