Help!! What do you do when 22month old has a screaming meltdown at Disney?

When my son started the whole tantrum thing, I would just tell him I'm not interested in listening. I would tell him to go to his room and have the tantrum, or sometimes, I would carry him in there and put him on the floor and close the door. All very business-like and matter of fact, no raising of voices or anything. I just made him understand that he could tantrum if he liked, I just wasn't interested in hearing or seeing it. LOL....When he realized he wasn't doing it for anyones *benefit*, he realized it was a waste of energy. I know this doesn't help when you are in public, but by doing this we never had a tantrum in public.

Yes, I'm quite close to the Fox Valley Mall.

My older son who is 4-1/2 rarely had temper tantrums, my younger son is very strong willed and definitely has enough of a temper for both of them. My little guy doesn't just cry, kick his legs, and whine, he screams, screams very loud! Certain tactics work, when your at home, at a restaurant or a store, but sometimes dealing with a 21 month old is a little harder to do at a place like Disneyworld. I'm not a super parent, I don't always say or do the right thing, but, I'm not a complete idiot either. I guess I should've asked the question if I didn't want all the responses.

I appreciate all the positive responses I got and for those of you who shoud've re-read your posts before posting, I realize that those were your opinions, and everyone is entitled to that.
