Help: What did I do wrong?

I thought I did everything right but the color on my shirt disigns are flaking off. They looked great in Disney but when I came home and washed them on gentle cycle with gentle detergent the color flaked off. I prewashed, dried with no fabric softener, and followed all the directions that came with the transfer paper. Please can some one help, some don't look very bad and not all are washed yet, is there something I can do to stop this. Thanks everyone. Kathleen

Some people do a vinegar wash after after they iron on the image to keep the colors from running. I would suggest getting Amy Mickeys transfer paper in the future then you won't have to worry about flaking, running or vinegar washes. www.amymickey.com

I used both Amy's and Gold Coast. The gold coast seems to be a little worse then Amy's, but I haven't really checked them all out closely.

That is the first I have heard of Amy's flaking...I have washed mine several times since we were at Disney and didn't have any problems. Send her a pm and see what she says. She likes to know if anyone is having problems with her product.

My shirt flaked too. It started before I washed it and it was worse afterwards. I think maybe I didnt iron it long enough to begin with, so I am going to try again. I contacted Amy and she hadn't heard this being a problem. I am sure it is something I did wrong, like the ironing.
