Help! What dept to look in for Jeans for a teen boy?

My son has the opposite problem, he's too skinny. We haven't measured his height recently, but this summer he finally passed me up, I'm 5'8", and he's only 12!!! I'm not ready for my little boy to be so grown. His waist is about 26 inches, but his inseam was 32, but he's grown too tall for 32s so I don't know what I'm going to do now. He's been wearing 28 inch waist with a belt, but I can't find 28 inch waist with a 34 inseam. We live in Pennsylvania so he has to have long pants for the winter, I've tried men's track pants but they have to have a drawstring (because an elastic waist is too big) and they look silly because the drawstring is pulled so tight--it looks like he's wearing a potato sack cinched around his waist. I wish you luck with your school shopping and I'm following this thread to get some ideas. These in-between years are awkward, aren't they?
