First time posting...hope this goes well. So excited to hear free dining was extended only to find out our dates 10/11-10/19 are NOT included. Some MNSSHP tickets our week also not discounted. Does anyone know why these dates are blacked out from discounts? Is there something going on at this time I don't know about? I thought that going AFTER the Columbus Day holiday we would be safe from huge corwds. Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!

It is because it is the week of Columbus Day. Many schools have a few days off that week so families like to travel then because the kids aren't missing a full week of school.

I'm there with you; it's the only time for us to go so we're going, but I'm really worried about crowds. :(

Want to go to MNSSHP, but I'm worried about crowds then too (on Thursday). Anybody have any advice / background on this week?

The holiday weekend is the weekend that fronts the OPs trip. As the week goes on, crowds from the holiday will continue to decrease. We are arriving the 14th, which is that Friday.

However, during that time frame is a huge IT convention on property as well as a PGA tourney. This means an increase in rooms booked, thus no "need" for Disney to have a promotion.
