Help! We linked MDX accounts/shared making reservations and now they might cancel their trip!

My husband and I were planning a solo trip to WDW this fall when we found out some family members were going to be there at the same time. While we are staying offsite, they booked the full experience on-property. We linked our MDX accounts so that we could mutually benefit: shared one Memory Maker purchase, ADR's for the entire week and most recently, FP+ reservations at 60 days out. We also shared in the process of making the reservations..some were made under my MDX, some under theirs.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the other couple isn't sure they will be able to take the trip now and may be cancelling their entire thing. We are, of course, disappointed at not being able to spend the week with them but also very worried about our ADR's and Fastpasses.

Does anyone know how their cancellation would affect us? Would it make a difference if they wait until we are within the 30-day window?

We also booked a table for 4 at Cinderella's Palace during MNSSHP. While I was the one who called Disney Dining to make the reservation, they put it under the other couple's MDX so that we wouldn't need to pre-pay. Will I loose that reservation?

One final question, if anyone knows....I was the one who purchased the 4 tickets to MNSSHP for us. Is it possible to sell or give away the 2 we won't be using?

I know that was a lot of questions - I'm kind of freaking out while trying to stay calm and hope they will not need to cancel after-all, but I'm the type of person who needs to be prepared!

Ouch!

You will be able to fix some of this, maybe not all.
It will likely be with some difficulty.
This can be a cautionary tale to those reading about mixing multiple parties.

I learned long ago (due to similar circumstances) that "the best-laid plans..."

Yes, you CAN give away or sell the new tickets.

The ADRs won't be affected. Anyone can make ADRs, starting at 180 days. If they are in their name, you may have to give their name when you check-in. Check to see if they can be modified to 2 people, but if they can't as long as the 2 of you show up, no penalty will be charged. Alternatively, if they are not the highly sought-after ones, you may be able to just re-do them for 2 people under your account.

FPs should also be fine. They may be "locked in" until the 30-day mark, so you could cancel them but not modify. But because you will have a ticket attached to your account they should remain.

If I were you, I would probably have them call Disney to cancel and explain the situation just to make sure the plans of the people still going won't be effected as much as possible.
