I like Ellie-Claire and Kaleb. we spelled our DD's name Emilie. I regret it with every ounce of my being. No one ever spells her name right. If I had it to do again, it would be Emily. Getting opinions from here is great, but use the name that you love. You'll see that baby and be thrilled with the name, and it will be him/her. My sister named her daughter Mallory. It's not a name that I would ever pick. My sister knew I didn't "love" it. But, the name fits her.

I'm one with a different spelling (Judi instead of Judy). I changed it myself as a kid. I don't regret it, but then again, I'm not in the market for pre-personalized keychains and the like.

I chose Isaac and Ellie.

I was thinking about posting a name poll when we get closer to our due date but reading these replies I might not, ouch.

Just don't spell it weird or pick anything *different*. ;) :p

let someone on ebay decide. You make enough money to cover his/her college bills.

I love Ellie. Had Lucas been a girl, he would have been Noelle, and I was going to call her Ellie. I think both girls names are beautiful, actually. I like both boys names too. Both are becoming more common, so I don't think anyone will give you a "You named him WHAT??" kind of answer. If I had to choose, I would say Isaak because it sounds a little more manly to me, although Kaleb does NOT sound girly, IYKWIM.

Linn is my Dh Fathers middle name and even though we already named our first born after him, Michael, DH wouldn't decide on a boys name unless we used Linn for the middle. I don't like it, but it was the only way the baby would be named if it's a boy. Liliana is a combo of both of my great grandmothers. Lillian and Anna. Claire we always liked and Ellie we've always liked. We like Kaleb with a K because it's different. With a Jeremiah, Seth, and Ethan already we need names that go along with those.

I like Ellie and I like Claire, but when I say them together aloud it sounds like "L. E'Clair". Just a thought. How about something like "Elise Claire" or "Eleanor Claire" instead? Then you could CALL her Elllie, but if you were saying her whole name it wouldn't sound like you're calling a chocolate dessert.

I am curious why you chose great old testament names for the boy....but then changed the spelling? My son would have been named Caleb, I love the name. So, i vote for Caleb and Ellie, but i would spell Caleb the traditional way and save your son a lot of hassle!

My husband doesn't like Caleb at all, he only finally agreed on it because I agreed we could use Linn for the middle(his DF middle name). Anyway, we like to make an "old" name and make it a little more modern with a different spelling. We already "ruined" our firstborn by name him Michael Jeremiah and calling him Jeremiah. When he was born DH couldn't stop calling him Mikey and we both didn't like that. So Jeremiah he became. Also my DH is the same way. His name his Michael Chadwick, but has always been called Chad. Anyway, DH wouldn't even sit down and talk boy names with me. This is the forth time in 5 years that we had to have this conversation. I always pick a list of names and then we decide which one we agree on. Well he didn't like ANYTHING I picked and I read the WHOLE baby book. He kept picking African-American names and we're both white as ghosts. PLus our other childrens names are Jeremiah, Seth, and Ethan. I was getting pretty sick of it, so when he agreed on Issak and Kaleb, spelled differently, I went for it. The poor child would be more confused with a african-american name. :D

Where is the Chad option?

Chad is my DH name and he hates it so he would never name one of his children that. I don't know why he hates it. I like it. :flower:

Yes, please dump the K's. This reminded me of something from high school. There was a kid named "Kristoffer." I'm sure his parents thought they were being cool when they named him but he was never called "Kris"--he was always called "Kris with a K," which was always said with a lisp. Don't forget how mean other kids can be. You don't want your son to be known as "Kaleb with a K."

Well, there won't be teasing in the family. (My sister has 6 kids one of which is named Eli, but it fits him.) and there won't be teasing in our church(most all of the kids there have biblical names) and we are planning on homeschooling(I was homeschooled all my life and turned out well socialized and normal :D ), so there won't be teasing at school to worry about. Besides no matter WHAT your name is or how it's spelled there is always SOMEONE who will name a horrible nickname out of it. Thats just life. My name is Amanda and I have an uncle who insists on calling me Amanda Panda, even though I'm an adult now. The reason we went for "different" names, Kaleb and Isaak is because with a church full of young children who all have biblical names, we didn't want to use something already in use. I grew up being the "other Amanda" and when I changed to Mandee, the other Amanda did also, so that really s*****. Also there is a family in our church who have a grandson named Caleb who is really sick with cancer right now(he's only 4) and so with all the talk and prayer about him, we didnt want to copy that name completly.

The whole point is we want to call her Ellie-Claire together. Yes, it sounds like a chocolate dessert, who doesn't LOVE chocolate though???? I know that will probably become her nickname, but it could be a lot worse. (My 20 year old sister has been Boofer(her name is Bethany)since she was born) Besides if she has my husbands hair and my skin coloring she will look like an eclair. This might be our last chance at a girl so we want to utilize as many names that we like as possible. :flower1:

I voted for Isaak and Ellie. Good luck with your choice and Congratulations!

I had to add, that I was not blessed with a son (but I love my 3 DD's!!) If I had a son, he would have been named Hunter, Robert or Forrest.
I love all of those names!

Amanda, my sister had 5 girls before she started having boys. Then she had two boys, another girl, and another boy. She's now expecting #10. If you're doing the big family/homeschooling thing, you may get to use more names than you expect!

I'm PMing you with my sister's webpage. She publishes a newsletter you might be interested in.

DH and I have never put a number on how many kids we would have because we believe that number has already been written in stone. However, This is my 4 pregnancy since 1999 and physically my body can't handle anymore right now. I am a small person and I have large babys and carry VERY big. I have been in physical pain so bad that most days I limp since I was only 5 months. So I'm not sure how many more we will have. If this last one is a girl, we are hoping it might be the last. If it's a boy, then well we'll keep pressing on. I WANT MY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flower1: Anyway, birth control has failed us 2 times in the past, so ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. :D

I think Liliana is just beautiful, with a special meaning to it, and timeless. Ellie is VERY trendy today, and will be dated in the future - You chose timeless names for your other children, I think Ellie would be going against that (meaning - in 15 years, just about every Ellie will be in high school). Not that it's not a beautiful name, but it's a trendy and I tend to stay away from trends. Liliana on the other hand is easy to pronounce, not madeup but still original, and will age well.

I REALLY don't like the K in Kaleb, mainly because it looks madeup. It will also constantly be misspelled, and look dated in a few years when the 'K' trend passes as well... Caleb is beautiful, timeless, and will age wonderfully and look good on a grown man. I have a hard time imagining a grown man sitting behind a desk with 'KALEB' on his nameplate - just seems less mature to me. JMHO.

Again, I prefer the original and timeless spelling of Isaac (as opposed to Isaak) but it's not as obvious when the K is at the end of the name. Between Caleb and Issak I much prefer Caleb - but between Kaleb and Issak I much prefer Isaak because I can't get past the K at the beginning =)

Good luck in choosing, I'm sure you'll find the best fit for your family in the end! Hope the rest of your pregnancy is quick and less painful.
