You put it exactly how I feel. Now, my DD is rethinking a backpack as well. I think she is finally going to do it.
Don't be so sure yet!!! :teeth:

Super!! So glad someone else was able to snag up the deal at Old Navy!! :)

I stopped at the Old Navy closest to my house which is rather small and was sure they wouldn't have any but thanks to you & OP I knew to look in Men's section and I found one in a clearance bin without a price. Even the cashier was shocked at what a deal it was. Thanks again to you and OP. I don't think I would have ever thought to check Old Navy for a waist pack and it was such a great deal. My DH used it at the beach with the kids yesterday. The last time he went to the beach he dropped his brand new cell phone in the ocean so this was a well spent $2.97!!!!

I am not a huge fan of the fanny pack... except for when we go to Disney... I would never even think of going without a fanny pack... Almost a MUST!

We even bought them for the kids... 9 and 7... I don't even bring a pocket book to Florida with me... Just me and my fanny pack!!!

And I have seen more people with a fanny pack than without one there!!!

GO FANNY PACKS :cheer2: GO FANNY PACKS :cheer2:

Hmmm, I have two and I still wonder if our ON has anymore at that price! :rotfl: I got them for like $11! Now, let's see, how can I get to Old Navy. :moped: :confused3

went to the ON near my work on my lunch break and they didn't have anymore. now going to have to try the one near my house.

lovesdumbo - noticed your from Mass - what city ON did you try? i was just at the one in burlington and now going to try the one in leominster.

I was in Walmart tonight and much to my surprise found an Eastsport Passport Gearbag that will work perfectly for me. I like to carry all of our family's APs, a credit card and cash, my cell phone, sunglasses, chapstick, fastpasses and a few other little things. This will work so well. I can't believe it was at Walmart and only $4.74. I carry my camera in it's own case and dh carries the Video Camera. Here is a link to the bag

Often times it takes a much bigger person to wear a fanny pack. ;-) (And I mean a bigger character, not bigger size LOL)

I'm 20, and I'm almost positive I will be donning a fanny pack at the parks in July. I tend to over pack mine, so unless I can find a backpack (I don't mind carrying one) that is comfy for long usage and won't make my back sweat (GROSS!), then I'll whip out the ole waist pack!

I have a small coach handbag for evenings out....I can't imagine spending that much money on something and then going on Kali with it! Or having it fly away on Rockin Roller Coaster! YIKES!

I found mine in Hingham. A really small, old store-it used to be a Gap Outlet. It was the only one they had and didn't have a price tag on it.

Love that! That looks perfect for the things you've listed. I would still need something for ponchos, wipes, and autograph cards but I like the idea of the passes being so easily accessable. I just don't know if I could fit 5 ponchos in the ON waist pack. I'll probably use my mesh backpack that will spend most of the time in the stroller anyways.

We have a couple of mesh backpack that we carry the ponchos and baby extras in. They stay with the stroller so we don't have to carry them around. I don't know what I'll do when we no longer need a stroller.

I am so sad to see people arguing here about comfort v. fashion. You know, my husband thinks I have lost my mind for being a DISer and I think there are many in the larger world who share his view. So, maybe we can all just agree to respect each others' different views, and unite in our sameness, that is, our addiction to Disney. :grouphug:
Now, with regard to what to carry to Disney--I am going to WDW in 13 days and I am still in a quandry over what to carry. A fanny pack seemed too small and the idea of having water bottles hanging off my belt seems cumbersome. My DH will be staying home to work, so I didn't want to have to carry the weight of a back pack all day. I liked the idea of the Coach swing bag, because it was bigger than a fanny pack but smaller and lighter than a backpack, but, at $98 I couldn't justify it (though I do have a coach briefcase). So, I found a less expensive ($30) swing bag on gap.com--

I am going to Gap this morning to check it out. :cool1:

In regard to the water bottles, I had read on another thread about a lanyard that you can get at some of the stands that sell bottles of water and soda. I finally found one. It hangs a little below mid-chest on me, and fastens around the neck of the bottle. It was annoying wearing it up front, but when I slipped it around one shoulder and across my chest it worked well, with the bottle off to one side and out of my way. My fanny pack had no way to carry a bottle except inside the main compartment, but I was afraid the condensation might mess up my camera. This was a solution, and it worked really well!

I'd rather see a fanny pack than the fanny of a guest who's shorts are too shorts...
but anyway...
I do have a question. I don't tuck my shirts, how does that work with a fanny pack?
And Julie and Nick's Mom :woohoo: you rock!

I don't like tucking in my shirts either. However, there are only two ways to wear it without tucking in your shirt, and with one you appear quite pregnant, so I also put it around the outside. If you have one of the shorter shirts you can probably tuck in behind, but I tend to wear shirts that are longer that the young fashions they have now adays (tho sometimes I wish I had the figure to wear those!). A lot of people there were wearing them that way (I didn't pay attention then, but it is in my pictures).

Even my Pal Mickey has a fanny pack. :goodvibes
