Help..Want to take engagement pics in Disney...

A few years ago (like 3 or 4) my family did a portrait sitting with one of Disney's own professional photographer. I would not hesitate to recomend them at all. They did a superb job. In the information we were given, we were told we would recieve 12-24 pictures. We actually got more like 48-50. I had a friend who did this after I did and she got a ton more than me.

Here is some information I dug up from 2003. I'm sure the prices are higher now, but if you have an AP, I believe they sometimes give a discount.

Included in the price of the sitting you will receive your presentation prints (proofs), as well as a multi-print folio showcasing images from your portrait session. Confirmation will be mailed upon receiving your order. A credit card is required at time of booking. American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Disney credit cards are accepted. An additional charge to the sitting fee may also be incurred during holidays. Personal checks for reprint orders should be made payable to Walt Disney World. Please allow up to six weeks for your portraits to be mailed registered returned receipt.

Florida sales tax (6%) is added to resident sitting fees and portrait orders.

I just did my engagement photos in Disney on Nov. 26th. We didn't go with any specific photographer. We thought about it for a while then opted not to spend all that money. Instead we dressed up and went and took a whole bunch of photopass photos. We dedicated a few hours to making circles in MK to find photopass people. They were all very willing to do whatever we wanted and each person took about 10 photos for us. At the end of our trip we bought the cd for $100 and we're printing up our own prints. They aren't as "artsy" as you'll get with a real photograhper, but I want to take more pictures in January around our hometown myself since I'm a photographer.

If you want nice photos and are shorter on cash I would reccomend the photopass people hands down.

I used Randy Chapman for our engagement and wedding pictures. They were not taken inside the park, but rather around the resorts. Disney photographers are the only professionals allowed to take pictures within the park. You do not get to choose the photographer as they assign one to you. I highly recommend Randy Chapman!

I got my engagement photo's done at World Showcase at Epcot on December 1st. Here's more info about the package from Disney's website:

* Guided tour of the Disney Theme Park of your choice to determine a photo location. (Includes Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom park, Epcot's World Showcase, Tower of Terror at the Disney-MGM Studios, or The Tree of Life in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park)

(These sessions will be scheduled from park opening until 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Session does not include admission to the park. Casual attire and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.)

It was a lot of fun. Brian was our photographer and we had a great time. The only thing I would have done differently is losing more weight (the pictures taken were after a week of eating Disney food!) and planning an outfit (I ran out of time and the outfit I was planning to wear was for colder weather and it was HOT that day!). He took lots of pictures in every country and it took about an hour to do. Have fun whatever you decide to do!

**Also these are done while the parks are open (only WS is closed as it doesn't open until 11 and they're done before that) and there may be people in your pictures at other parks (although our photographer said they do Photoshop the pictures so they may take the people out, I'm not sure).

I recently did an engagement shoot at disney at the Grand Floridian. I used an outside photographer, misty miotto. She came recommended on this board from some disney brides. I found her very easy and fun to work with. You can check out her website to see some samples of her work.
