HELP - Wait list for BCV or Contemporary?

I am planning a 40th anniversary trip for my parents next October. Called today to switch my reservation from Saratoga to the Beach Club (where my mom has always wanted to stay), and of course it's not available for our whole length of stay (9 nights) - the CM said it was blocked off right in the middle. However, Contemporary is open (lake view). This is more points and I am borrowing ahead, so if I go Contemporary, but then get in from the wait list for BCV, I am stuck with 39 extra points that I doubt we'd use up by the end of the use year.

This is my first experience with the wait list so my question for those of you who've done it before - what do you think the chances are that I'll get the 2-bedroom BCV if I'm on the waitlist now and part of the week is already open?

If my chances are slim, I may just bite the bullet and go for the Contemporary...

Thanks for any advice!

Because you want October, and the BCV tends to be more popular then because of the F&W, I would book the Contemporary right now and plan on staying there. Even if part of the time is open for you now, if you don't book those dates, they could be lost before the rest of the time opens. MS doesn't "hold" the part you can have for you unless you book it. I would not want to risk having a celebration with others marred by having to change resorts.

You may really want the BCV, so my solution may not be yours, but I would go with BLT! ( I would also ask if a dedicated 2 bedroom were available there. If not, I would book the lockoff and waitlist for a dedicated. My family prefers more real beds!)

Thanks Bobbi! Actually we are checking in on 10/29, and the October dates were available, it was a few in November that weren't. I was surprised by that. But you're right, we don't want to switch resorts during the stay. I think I will call and switch to the Contemporary this afternoon, that will be special, too. I just wasn't sure what the liklihood of getting off the waitlist would be.

Thanks again!
