Help w/ weight gaining supplements...

I work our 3-4 times a week & eat 3 fairly healthy meals per day along w/ several snacks in between.

3 "fairly" healthy meals? If you're working out consistently and not gaining weight, then you are not eating enough. Plain and simple. You should be eating 6-7 balanced meals throughout the day. Make sure your protein intake is adequate as well. Shoot for at least 1-1.5 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight a day. I would work on that, before you waste money on supplements.

Don't forget, the most anabolic thing you can put in your body is food.

Totally agree. ::yes:: Good advice! :thumbsup2

Good luck! My boyfriend has the same problem. He was skinny as a rail when I met him. He ate about 6 meals a day and never even worked out. I was sooo jealous. ;) The only thing that has successfully helped him gain weight was Paxil. :rotfl:

I wish I had time to eat 6 meals per day, but unfortunately I work a full-time job & that just doesn't allow me enough time for that. Not to mention that the whol eating more thing does not work for me, it's just not that simple. My metabolism is out of this world!

Then this is why you need to see a nutritionist or dietician. :)

If you have time for 3 main meals and several snacks then you have time for 6-7 mini meals. These 6-7 meals are not huge elaborate affairs. They are mini meals and take no more time than snacks-especially if you prepare ahead. You really need to go see a professional. I'm a trainer and I finally convinced my dh to go to smaller more frequent meals and he works 70 plus hours a week and does Taekwondo, and cycling and lifts 2-3 times a week and he isn't finding a problem eating more frequently. You need to learn to eat properly now because I can almost guarantee that when you get into your 40's you won't have a metabolism rate out of this world-instead you'll be fighting weight gain. I'm not against supplementing, I'm for eating properly first and then becoming educated about supplements through a profeesional.

You need to make time. Plan out all your meals and prepare everything ahead of time.

You can't say eating does not work for you. Your just not eating enough. If you have a fast metabolism and are active, you need to eat enough to compensate for that. 3 meals a day is obviously not enough to add muscle to your frame. All a weight gainer does is provide you with extra calories. You can take it and still not gain weight because your not eating enough whole foods.
