I'm thinking of suprising my 2 DDs with a trip to the world as soon as school lets out - May 31. We would fly down and stay 7 nights. Since it would just be a "girly" trip this time, we would stay on-site. Okay here are the particulars:

I would buy APs since we are definitely going back in Dec. with DH, DS and my mom/step-dad and maybe some extended family.

Would rather stay at a mod. resort because don't they all now have fridge/mw? Which one would have the best pools? We would go to the parks early, come back for afternoon swims and rest, then go back to the parks at night.

Is is still possible to get an AP rate for the dates I'm looking at for a mod? I'll consider on of the value resorts as well.

I'm open to all suggestions?

Oh, and do all of the Disney resorts have laundry facilities and are they coin-opearated? I want to pack as lightly as possible.

Stroller? My younger DD likes to ride, but then so does DD6? I can't push both by myself so I'm considering just renting a double at the parks? Ideas? I could just insist they walk - especially at night.

Thanks for any ideas/help you can give me. :earboy2:

Have you considered renting Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points? I just looked...7 nights in a studio at Beach Club Villas (BCV) would cost 123 points. Points typically rent for $10.00 per point so in this example your lodging cost would be $1,230.00. No tax is added. Studios have a larger mini fridge than the standard resort "cube" sized fridges. They are about hip high. There is also a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. When using DVC points you can use the DVC laundry facilities for free (you buy the soap and stuff). These units have a queen bed and a full (maybe queen?) sized sleeper sofa. And if it matters, you can have free valet parking and free access to their health club. The DIS has a forum just for renting DVC points. We've used this method twice and have been more than pleased both times. Just something to think about.

I don't know much about the resorts..I am a local, so I don't stay on property. A double stroller sounds like the way to go, my experience is that insisiting on kids walking is a sure fire way to spoil a day....but that is just my experience.

All of that said....if you would like to we'd love to meet up with you for a day or two while you are here, I havea 4 yo dd and she loves to meet other kids. Just so you know, she and I are both in wheelchairs but we are pretty good at navigating the parks and know a lot of the CM's.

Just thought you might want to know that Gay Days are starting up that first week of June. You may or may not have some explaining to do to your DDs if they are not familiar with any gay couples. Here is the link for the Gay Days schedule:
http://gaydays.com/calendar/

I had actually forgotten about gay days, but went back and read some of the posts about behavior and crowds, so if we do get to go, we'll just avoid the particular park that their groups have planned to go to on certain days. And hope that nothing catches the eyes of my kids - LOL. Although we weren't that lucky when we went in January, there was one incident with a young couple (not gay) in line for one of the rides. My DD (then 5 1/2) was like "EWWW" - :rotfl:

As for renting DVC points - that is a good idea. Lately I've been reading that room availability is low for May, so renting points might work out. I'm going to browse over on the DVC board to see what might be available.

MommytoMJM - if we do get to go, I'll PM you and see if you guys can come and meet up with us. My girls also like to make friends, and it would be so neat for them to meet someone who lives near Disney. Be warned - my younger DD is quite outgoing and she'll probably ask you tons of questions, about your wheelchairs obviously, but probably a million others too (where you live, why you live near WDW, etc.) She drives me crazy with the non-stop questions. :earsboy:
