Best Friend and I will be in London June 1-6, 2009. :goodvibes

Thus far we have a reservation at Marriott County Hall. We are confident with this choice, as we are frequent Marriott guests in the states. However, the cost is somewhat expensive. We've selected it based on being able to use Marriott Rewards for two night, which we aren't excited about.

Last night we came upon The Rubens at the Palace. The website looks nice and it has good reviews on TripAdvisor. However, I'd like some "native" opinion on this hotel. Yes the location is priceless (as we'll be arriving via EuroStar from Disneyland Paris and departing to Gatwick). I'm quite frightened about the seemingly and incredibly small size of the rooms here.

Can anyone provide me some local insight into The Rubens and which you might choose (Rubens or Marriott County Hall)? :sad2: popcorn:: :flower3:

Thanks in advance from the States,
Gayle

Have not stayed at either, way out of my price range, and I am only 40 mins on train from London so we don't stay in London but preference for location I would take the Marriott. Around these parts of London the distances aren't great but I think the South bank has a bit more going for it. Personal opinion of course.

What do you plan to do while you are here? Any must do's?

Kirsten

Hi,

You may get more responses on the UK Community Board with this question.

Hey there, Gayle. I'm going to move this across to UK Community where you're sure to get some helpful responses.

I haven't stayed at either of these hotels, but, what I do know is that, like NYC, London hotel rooms are notoriously small and expensive. :(
