HELP w/ DH's Xmas shopping

Tis that magical time of year where the glimmer of hope in peoples eyes is that they can get to the fruitcake that noone will eat but is 50% off before you can! Does anyone have ANY ideas what to get DH's grandparents? We usually get them figures from swarovski, but I want to do something different, price isnt that big of an issue, but they are the last present I have left to buy and ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!! any suggestions would be appreciated!

I just went over to findgift.com and did a search. It personalizes by age, couples or single persons, the occasion etc etc. They had some realy nice ideas. Personalized Family Tree plaques, grandparent garden bench, there was a game called reminiscing, and my favorite was a portrait made by your own photo. Not sure there would be time for that or not, but how lovely to have a portrait made of either them in thier younger days, thier children or grandchildren.

Grandparents are hard to buy for - I use to get my grandmother a gift certificate for her favorite hair salon. She loved that. Maybe you could get them a gift certificate to go out to dinner somewhere or tickets to something that they would really enjoy.

Here's a magazine that my grandparents get and enjoy. It's called Reminisce and it's by the people who do the Taste of Home and Quick Cooking magazines if you're familiar with those. They also have one called Birds and Blooms that I get for my grandmother because she's into gardening and birdwatching.

Another fun idea is to get them classic toys from their childhood that they loved. One year I got my grandfather a yoyo and my grandmother a set of jacks. These were toys they had mentioned were their favorites as children. It was a lot of fun for them to show the kids toys from "the old days". Grandpa is actually pretty talented with a yoyo!
