would like a 3 or 4 star hotel DTD 3 nights.

Wondering if they're really 'cheaper' on Hotwire or Priceline. Especially during holiday weeks.

Does one focus on DTD area or would we be better off in Celebration area (is it even close...?)

Is Priceline same as Hotiwire with their ratings anyway?

Sites like BetterBidding and HotelDealsRevealed are Hotwire 'helper' sites. They're a tool you can use to find out what hotel you might get. I used Hotwire last year and got the LBV Resort Hotel, a 2 bedroom suite and was elated by the price -- I think around $100 per night.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I think this will answer your question. This is what I do when booking on Hotwire:
  • Go to HotelDealsRevealed.com and see the list of known Hotwire hotels in Orlando.
  • This will give you a good idea of what hotel you might get on Hotwire.
  • Now go to Hotwire and compare to the list (above). Look for hotels on the first list that match what Hotwire is offering. There is a good chance that's the hotel you'll get.

Just remember that Hotwire hotels are non-refundable. Also, Hotwire tends to be 'generous' with their hotel ratings. A 4 star on Hotwire is probably a 3star elsewhere.
