help: vero beach easter vacation

thinking of adding on two/three days to my april visit to the world but getting sticker shock. For the 9th and 10th of April they are charging $430 a night (thru DVC) for the 1 bedroom or 80 points a night. Any suggestions on getting these for less (need the 1 bedroom).

Thats one of the drawbacks of going during Premier time at VB. From Feb 29 through April 17 is Spring break time at VB. So that means 6 weeks of the highest point values.

While at other DVC locations there isn't more than 2 consecutive weeks of "Premier time" during Easter and 1 week at x-mas. So a total of 3 weeks of very high pt totals. While VB has 7 total weeks of "Premier time".

We'll be at Vero that Sun-Friday and then, as of yesterday when I saw there were codes out at that time - head to the world for 3 days. The codes out now offer a 1 BR at OKW for $300....

For cash rates, that is Holiday Season. $430 (pre-tax) is the rack rate for the one-bedroom. I'm assuming this means they don't have any rooms available with the DVC discount. Have you confirmed that they do have rooms available? This is the most popular time at the resort.

I wish they would consider rebalancing the points at Vero to make the spring/winter season a little more reasonable. Summer has proven more popular than expected and they added a special cash category for this time period. I wish they would do a similar adjustment to the point charts.
