My DM is a resident of FL and she wants to order the tickets for us for Universal. There are 6 adults and 2 children going. Can we use the passes? She won't be coming with us because she just had knee surgery.

from my experience, you don't need to be a resident of FL to get those tickets. I'm a resident of Florida and all they need on the online website is a zip code of where I live (a FL zip code). When I go to the electronic ticket machine at Universal, I just pop in my credit card I used and punch in the confirmation code and I get the tickets.

yes, they can buy it for you but I think there is a limit of 4? I may be wrong though. I know there is a place after you put in the billing info to put in the name of the person who will be using the ticket. Also, I think you need to use the print at home option b/c otherwise you will have to swipe the card for verification and since your relative wouldnt be there to swipe their card.

Yes, you would need the credit card that was used to place the order. If you don't have that credit card then the person who places the order either has to be there to pick it up w/ photo ID or your relative has to designate on the order the name of the person who will be picking it up.

As nodoubtrock suggested: I'd choose print-at-home or else choose to have the tickets mailed.

The limit of tickets to purchase was changed from four to eight. Just do not try using your credit card and your family's billing address. The order will not go through and a hold would be placed on your credit card.

Yes that is ok, as others have said, choose the print at home option if you won't be with them. I called Universal last summer when I moved here to make sure it was ok, and they said it was. I didn't want to get arrested at the front gate...haha! But like others have said, you will have to swipe that credit card at the electronic ticket window unless you print at home or have them mailed.

Mom lives if FLA, I live in NY. Mom doesn't have a credit card. Can I order FLA residence tkts in moms name using a NY credit card. If yes do I have them mailed to mom in FLA or myself in NY.

Just to get it straight, is it correct that the tkt user doesn't have to be a FLA resident, just the tkt purchaser?

yes, the ticket user doesn't have to be a fl resident but the ticket purchaser does. a credit card with a fl billing address has to be used. it verifies the billing address with your bank when you purchase the tickets. so, no, you can't use your mom's address, fl summer home address, hotel address, etc. with your credit card b/c it will not match and will be seen as fraud.

And not only that but it will put a hold on your credit card because it will not go through. The hold will drop off but it usually takes 24 to 48 hours.

Thanks for the answers. Nobody wants to be suprised with a hold on their credit card

I'm a bit confused re the FL resident tix . . . ok, so I have a cousin that LIVES in Florida who can get tix for me (4 of us) . . . she can purchase them using her credit card, I'll send her the money, that's fine . . . she can have the tickets sent to her address, and I'll pick them up from her there . . . ok, so does SHE need to be with us when we go to enter the park for the first time??

I'm hearing that the FL Resident does NOT need to be with you, but I called Universal this morning and was told that they DO. So, I'm not sure what the deal is. Anyone?

Thanks!

If you're inquiring about getting resident season passes for this year (2009), then all you would need to do is go to the ticket booth at the front of the parks and purchase them for yourselves. They have removed the "Florida Resident" purchase requirement for the remainder of 2009. All black-out dates have been lifted and they are good through December 31. A phone call to guest services is not likely to confirm this information at first, but if you insist that they contact the actual ticket booth to double check their information, you should get the right answer. I am not a Florida resident, but I was able to purchase season passes during my visit 3 weeks ago.

Also, for future year trips, you can always go to one of the AAA offices located in Orlando and buy resident season passes (provided they have any available) and use them even though you are not a Florida resident.

You can purchase FL seasonal passes at the ticket windows. Your cousin does not need to be with you because, as Sloan Ranger said, the FL resident requirement has been lifted for season passes.

If you just want FL resident single day or two day tickets, your cousin will have to choose the print-at-home option unless she is planning on going with you. Otherwise, she would need to be there or give you her credit card to use at the kiosk.

I'm pretty sure that the FL resident tickets do not have the option to be mailed. I believe they are only kiosk pick up or print-at-home. You would need her credit card for kiosk pick up. Just have her choose the print-at-home option. She will not have to be with you for that.

I don't know about the season pass, but the 2-day pass only has the option to pick up at the park. You must present a FL ID. My understanding is the FL resident must be present.
