Our next holiday we will be with Virgin and we have not used them before, we know we'll fly into MCO and do we use their buses for the transfers or another company?Do the reps greet you at the airport and tell you where you need to go and what about pick up arrangements for the return journey??It's been a long time since my husband flew into MCO (1991) and we know the airport has changed a bit since. Thanks wifey. :goodvibes

Hi.Yes reps do greet you at the airport and tell you where to go.Weve had a car in the past so weve not had to ask about the return journey, some one else will know. :goodvibes

It's a long time since we flew and used their transfers but I'm pretty certain you are told arrangements for the return flight.
It will probably be posted in your hotel/accommodation too :sunny:

There's always the option of the welcome meeting too where, unless it's changed, you're given a free meal voucher for Hard Rock Cafe :thumbsup2

I travelled alone last year with Virgin and was really nervous with the arrangements at the other end-NOT A PROBLEM :thumbsup2 I was met by a Virgin rep who showed me where to get the bus to WDW, and also gave me my details at the same time for the return journey. Hakuna Matata.

We go we virgin every year. As every one else has said, you get met by the virgin reps and then they show you which van/coach to get on. Sometimes it has been a van (shared we another family or by ourselves) and sometimes we have got on a coach. It is not virgin transport but organised for you by virgin. Last year it was a Magic express coach that picked us up to take us back to the airport which was good because of the tv's.

Just wondered about it as we are frequent visitors to Orlando (almost a second home now) and would rather get on with our itinerary as everywhere will be very busy while we're there next year. I accept the reps have a job to do but we know our way around and what we want to do and when we want to do it. Would be a shame to lose half a day at a rep meeting -- not done one since 1998 don't want that experience again :scratchin
Would really like to try Bubba Gumps at some point :thumbsup2

I think you have to go to the meeting to get the vouchers :confused3

We planned a morning at DTD and just nipped into the meeting for the last 5 mins ;)

We have not bothered about the vouchers and missed the meetings on our last two visits, as park time is too valuable to sit around waiting to speak to a rep just to get the vouchers for the free meal.

Claire ;)

Thanks for the help everyone you really are helping me feel good about things! :cloud9:

I have travelled with VH a lot their reps are good, but I always book car hire, even if you are in the parks a lot, just driving out for a meal in the evenigs saves you so much against Disney prices and it gives you felxibility to go shopping etc.

The car hire is on site and easy to get and drop off. I have found you are off quickly, last time I was driving at 35 mins past touch down of the flight.

The hotel we will stay at provides free transport to WDW, US and Seaworld so we don't need a car. We've used the hotel twice before and not had any trouble with the transport company they use. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cat:

If you've booked things like Cirque de Soleil, you'll need to go to welcome meeting to get this voucher... we didn't and ended up chasing reps round different resorts for half day!!!

We'll get all our park tickets seperately before we go, last time bought them from an internet site which was very good, and choose where and when before we get there. So we don't need a rep while we're there but if we do there's a hotel down the road where the virgin reps can be found if we really need one. :wave2:

If we've ordered our park tickets through Virgin dow e have to go to a welcome meeting to collect them or do they come with our flight tickets etc?

I also think the morning arrival meeting is perhaps a bit drawn out but would certainly recommend for first timers.

Perhaps you should also bear in mind that you can buy most attraction and excursion tickets at this meeting. The reps are on commission I guess, so don't go and buy everything (there's no hard sell really). On the plus side, this saves you queuing to buy tickets elsewhere. Not just Disney tickets but Seaworld/Busch, Cirque, House of Blues, Shopping Trips, Airboat tours, Space Centre, Universal etc etc plus some handy hints and tips.

Personally, having spent many long minutes in queues buying tickets before (minutes all add up) it's sometimes actually a timesaver going to this meeting (depending on the time of year and how busy everything is, if you haven't pre-purchased).

I'm not sure, Chris - anyone else know???

When I bought tickets from Virgin in the past they sent them through to me at home before I travelled to Orlando. This was quite a few years ago though so I would not want to assume the same thing occurred!

We booked up over a week ago and still have not received our confirmation yet, hope it turns up soon :listen:

Chris when we went in 2003 we had to go to a meeting to get vouchers to exchange at the park which amounted to wasted time at the meeting and queuing at WDW. Hope this has changed. Can you give Virgin a call and ask? Always buy actual tickets elsewhere now.

I went last October, bought a 7 day hopper thru'Virgin and was sent a voucher with my airtickets to exchange at the parks-strangely, I also purchased a MNSSHP ticket online from WD which I could pick up at my hotel........Why I couldn't pick both up at the desk I don't know.
